snip What are you doing only neck sizing rounds that are going into a semi-auto? Handloads that are intended to be used in a semi-auto gun should ALWAYS be full-length resized. Really, neck-sizing rounds is for a bolt gun - the same bolt gun. |

retail here is around 420.00
keltec is supposed to have the forgrips, break, and sling adapter out in january. I also saw a report wher they will be shipping some fully loaded with all the accesories included later this year. |
because that lot of brass was only fired in my ar and it's never been an issue outside of that gun before. those were blasting rounds not battlefield ammo.
Would this weapon be considered a pistol if pulled over by johnny law?
Stink on shit. |
thanks for that deep thought |
I was afraid that came out wrong. What I meant is if they sell them with all the accessories already attached, I'm on it "like stink on shit". Oh yes, it will be mine. |
Thanks for the review! It seems like it could be a fun thing to have.
It is a pistol, by design & by legal definition. Whether "Johnny Law" (or , here, "Bubba Law") would "consider" it a pistol or not may be another matter entirely... IOW, rap, ride, you know the drill. |
I guess that means I won't get the chance to trade you out of it, then?... (Thanks for the range report BTW.) |

There should be a rule about posts that include "Range Report" in the title. I keep clicking on them, and they're all about some guy taking stupid new gun somewhere and shooting it. Big whoop.
I know a Range Report. I've read a Range Report. This, Sir, is no "Range Report!" |
Yeah! What he said! |
Are you any relation to Dweezil Benz ? |

got it through a buddy that is my local ffl. i feel like he got a me a good deal. i was told retail for the base gun will be 420-450.00. about 400.00 cheaper than bushies carbon 15 pistol and i think this is more comfortable to shoot. but that is just my opinion.
only time will tell on durability so far i think it's a decent gun for what it is in the 400ish price range. |
Neat. If I find one in stock at that price, it'll be going home with me..
I want one. Might be enough motivation to actually apply for Suffolk County's lame ass permit to own for a pistol.
Every Kel-Tec i've ever ran into was a piece of shit, no thanks.
Did you actually shoot them, or just run into them? Can we have some details on why and what, please? |
A first heard for me. Most of the ones I've run into seem to work just fine. |
I can't believe no one has yet asked what the best self defense round would be for such a pistol.
What did you run into it with? One time, I saw this guy at the range shooting a KelTec P-3AT just like the one I have, except his had one after the other FTEs and FTFs. I thought he got one of those 'lemons' I periodically read about having FTF & FTE problems. I asked him if I could take a few shots with it and no problem. Then he took some shots and the problems came back. Then I took some and no problems. Guess what the problem was? Limp wrist. |

Sorry bud, that there is a baby-killing assault pistol here in our fair state: (c) a semiautomatic pistol that has an ability to accept a detachable magazine and has at least two of the following characteristics: (i) an ammunition magazine that attaches to the pistol outside of the pistol grip; (ii) a threaded barrel capable of accepting a barrel extender, flash suppressor, forward handgrip, or silencer; (iii) a shroud that is attached to, or partially or completely encircles, the barrel and that permits the shooter to hold the firearm with the non-trigger hand without being burned; (iv) a manufactured weight of fifty ounces or more when the pistol is unloaded; |
Thanks for the report. I was wondering whether I needed one of those. Now I know.
The forward grip makes all the difference for apperance, you might have to get one.
Thanks for the report Beer Slayer. Looking forward to the next update.
Wouldn't a foreward grip make it an AOW? Or did they change their mind about that? ETA: Or is that what they call the handguards? |
a second pistol grip is a nono
the horizontal handguard seems to be A-ok |
soon as i get paid the handguard is on order. so far it's been to the range twice and i like it more everytime i shoot it.
How much is the handguard? |
Aw crap! Great....just great. One more thing to add to my "must have" list.
should be easy to find. my local ffl had 4 yesterday. |
I'm glad to hear it works as advertised.
Now, if someone could just convince me they are good for something ("fun" doesn't count), I will also be all over one like stink on shit. Home defense? Trunk gun? |
Think of it as a FiveseveN on steroids. |
so far i am more than pleased with relibility and accuracy. my plan is after 500 or rounds with zero issues lube or cleaning to replace the carbine in my trunck with this. It's much easier to carry in and out of the house at night, easier to conceal in the vehicle, and easier to manuever inside or outside the car.
loaded with tap ammo it should be a decent car gun for SHTF, will have enough power for the occasional coyote or other vermin roaming the roads and with a few 30rnd mags would be a car jackers worst nightmare . and if that doesn't pan out..... it's evil and fun |
Oh, but it's so close ;) I wonder if permanently attaching a thread protector or grinding off the threads would get rid of one of the evil features. Then it would just be the weight that causes the problem. The thing is only 1 ounce over. You could easily find that amount of weight and eliminate it somewhere, but I suppose the "manufactured weight" statement precludes drilling holes in the thing. I wonder if Kel-tec would make one a hair lighter without the threads. They seem to have a history of accomodating the ban states with the SU-16 series. Mike |

there is a good bit of plstic that could easily be ground off to remove an ounce or so. |
My Internal Firearm Purchase Rationalization Engine requires one other quality aside from "fun". Otherwise I get an "Reason not found: abort, retry, fail?" error when I open my wallet. |
