**This happened about 2 weeks ago or so and posted it on a car site I'm a member of. Its since been confirmed, so thought I'd post it here**
Went to lunch with the wife yesterday. She tells me she saw a really nice car that had hit a pole. I ask her what kind... "GT? Does Ford make a GT?" ..... You mean Mustang Gt right? No, it wasnt a Mustang ..... Your SURE it wasnt a Mustang? No, it just said GT, it looked more like a Vette then a Mustang (She isnt into cars much) Your shittin me.......Your SURE it wasnt a Mustang? No, it wasnt a Mustang. Still had dealer tags on it. After seeing the look of disgust and disappointment on my face she asks me if there expensive cars. Yeah, bout 200 grand of expensive. Yep, sound like someone piled up their shiny GT, after barely getting the bitch off the lot. **Heres the confirmation pics I recieved** UPDATE, MORE PICS HERE Click |

I bet his insurance agent was less then impressed! |

The horror
That's neough to make me cry even though I'm a Mopar man |

People who are successful, commonly assume they will excell at everything they try. All they need to qualify, is the money to get into the game.
Sometimes they aren't even successful at anything -- they just have the money, and take it from there. |
Never understood why you'd wanna drive a car that expensive on regular roads
Dude. My dad has this really killer set of tools. I can fix it.
Jim |
that is sad.
really sad I'f i owned that car. that wouldnt happen. |
Makes me wish I owned a body shop. I could retire after I was done with that.
I wish I had the kind of loot to go around trashing that calibre toy
Thats around the Mission Hills area I believe. Fun area to drive and tear ass around, and pretty good roads too. |
Uh oh!! Ford must have put firestones on these too!!!
www.showmeyourstang.com/gtcrash.htm What's the deal? Is this a problem? Notice the car in this thread and the car pics I just posted the link to are two different cars. |
that's in Kansas? Edit-don't answer that-it's Mission Hills KS, outside of KCKS-I just consulted a map. |

Does Ford put a traction/stability control system on these? Many high-end/powerful vehicles usually come with them. However, the driver can turn them off with a push of a button.
I bet this was a combination of a driver with poor skills and a fast car. He thought he was hot shit and decided to turn off the DSC on his new toy. A car of this class takes quite a while to get comfortable with and fully understand its capabilities. I've had my Maserati Spyder for 2 years now and almost never turn off the DSC as it is very easy to lose control of 400hp. It spins its rear wheels on the line very easily without the traction system turned on. The Ford GT is a very nice car, but personally, if I were to buy another luxury sports car, I cant see spending $200k on a Ford. I would be very hard-pressed to turn my attention away from the Italian makers as they, IMO, have superior external and internal design and good looks. Italians know how to make an amazingly beautiful car. |

To be able to afford that ride you need money, and a GOOD career.
that said.... How can someone soooooo smart be sooooooooo STOOPID!! I see shit like that all day (well in BMWs Benz, and ALOT of Hummers) |
Like the video of the rich guy who tried to fly his new helicopter before his lessons began.. Very expensive mistake.... |
LOL - man - I bet those idiots feel like total morons.
Under 30 days old. Shame. Stupidity does hurt, sometimes. |
Both those cars come on Goodyear Super Car tires and are a blast to drive on the streets.....but.....you need a functioning brain to survive. Most of the wrecks you see that involve late model, high powered sports cars the driver has turned off the computer that helps keep them out of harms way. Acts of stupidity, and even worse, on a dry road!
I'll never own one, ergo i don't give a shit. I felt worse for the diesel Toyota in that 16 minute video. |
The first pics look like some car salesman or a test driver wrecked it. Notice the dealership tag on the back....and the plactic is still on the front passenger seat.
No biggie. People who own cars like that can often buy a replacement the following day.
I messed up Spicoli's quote,... "My old man is a television repairman, he's got this ultimate set of tools. I can fix it. " "People on 'ludes should not drive. " might be more appropriate. Jim |

This has never been more true:
"Ban low performance drivers, not high performance cars." |
When I saw those pictures, I thought to myself "hey, that looks like that bridge over in Mission Hills!" Sure enough, located in KS. (In-laws live in Fairway)
Looks like someone's too good to learn how to drive stick (much less on a cheap [slow!] car, much less learning to drive well altogether) BEFORE getting behind that much power.
I wish I was rich enough to be that stupid and not have it bankrupt me.
Its only a ford.. If your dumb enough to spend that much money on a Ford well you get what you deserve
And I own a Ford. |
Yes, the problem is that idiots with a lot of money and no driving skill buy them and exceed their limits on the street. |
Honestly, if this was built ANYTHING like the real GT40 the rear end is trying tp say hello to the front before a regular everyday driver will know it.
Such a low car to the ground with a mid-rear setup is really hard to feel when the rear wants to come around. Only a pro can detect before it gets to the point of no return. Those Ford GT's are rare as it is, with everyone piling them into poles that will help the resale that much more. |
This is what happens when someone who is used to fairly powerful FWD luxury cars gets a RWD sport car. The laws of physics cannot be broken.
that must have been a really really really really bad crash. It looks like he hit on a structural point and still managed to crack it up that bad. |
a good lawyer would get that guy a new one, those white poles dont look right, they are damn near in the lane of traffic, i imagine that isnt the first time those have been hit.
