I have one that will last my or her lifetime, but if you don't know if you have the perfect one, yes date several, BE HONEST and UPFRONT. If they are worth a shit they will understand you want to find a good one, then when you get serious choose ONE, the right one.

I would only date multiple until I got to know them and find out who I really clicked with. That would happen after the third or fourth date I think. Then I would pick one for a relationship.

Its a good thing because it make you seem less desperate/needy. However once its get serious you need to pick one. My personal policy was dump anyone that did not give up the goods by or on the third date. Plus after the 5th date(s) you have to pick one. |

Considering the luck I've had lately with women, while behaving like the perfect gentleman, at this point I'm ready to date them by the dozen and lie, cheat, and steal from them, as well.
It's a phase, and it'll pass. Hopefully soon. Getting my heart ripped out and stomped on twice in as many years tends to make me a bit jaded on the topic.

WHen I'm dating, I'm in "mate selection mode."
That means, I'm god damn well looking at the whole menu. I am honest about it and completely so: I tell each of them that I'm "out there" and dating, and I'll even tell them when a date they wants conflicts with a plan I've got with someone else. Weeds out some non-hackers, i.e., jealous women who once in a serious relationship would be jealous of female co-workers, etc., and weeds out some super "clingers" -- i.e., women who have so elevated the concept of "love" in their brains that they attach themselves like a blood tick after one date and start those insane "forever" talks. That leaves me with the sluts (I mean, cmon, they're doing the same thing), and a pretty good selection of "good ones." The sluts are weeded out quickly through a couple of simple things that reveal their true colors, and then I'm left with a couple decent women who are comfortable with themselves. My big rule, and one I make clear as a "fairness" issue when I tell each of them that I'm dating several women, is to let them know I'm not going to sleep with several women at the same time. When I go for the pie, that means you're the one I'm going to want to date for a while. I've had good results -- competition is a good thing! |
