I often dry fire my pistol while im watching TV. So tonight Ive been sitting here relaxing, watching comedy central and dry firing my Sigma getting used to the trigger. Got up and got something to drink. I come back and sat down, dog jumps in my lap, and I squeeze one off at John Stewart on the daily show.

BOOM! I got em he

Interesting though, It was a .40 S&W Sigma. It didnt penetrate the back of the TV. Copper Jacket got scattered all over the room, but no "exit wound" on the back. Im about to go digging for the bullet. Maybe pics when i find it.. Camera needs to be charged.

Yes, I realize how incredibly stupid it was. Someone could have been killed. Im normally extremely safe with guns and have never had anything like this happen before. Valuable lesson learned and thankfully nobody was hurt. he
I'll hold off on dismantling the TV for the bullet until the camera charges a bit and I can get a pic.

I apparently loaded the pistol before i grabbed a drink not even thinking about it. Scared the shit out of me! No one hurt, im the only one here. Just one very scared dog and an important saftey lesson learned. How embarrasing

Wait till the dog sees you pick up your pistol agian ! I did something similar stupid and killed a freezer W/ a .357 Mag . That was over 30 years ago . It still bugs the shit out of me .

Glad your OK , it's one of those things you only do once .......

Course a freind in gunsmith school no less had his one moment a couple years later and shot me in the leg .

it DID go through the glass
