I was looking at the bookstore this past weekend and saw on the cover the Valkyrior556 rotary gun. Does anyone have any info on this. I checked their site and there was nothing on it. It was listed as 97% the fun of a mini gun and 10% of the price at $30,000.

I would love to know more about this little toy!

Not to hijack this, but did you see the full page color ad that showed an H&K pistol... with a rusty extractor?? Weird! You're right about that rotary gun though...it is awesome!

They had a couple of them at the last Knob Creek shoot. That one, I believe, and the prototype.They were really nice pieces.
They are exploring doing them in other calibers, too, including .50 BMG.

THAT I want to see.

saw one in person at the SAR show this december. It looked nice and was on sale for only 24k. Said they shoot about 400 rpm

So what is this gun exactly? Is it just a semiauto that is "electrically operated" (-as opposed to gas-operation like a normal semiauto rifle would be doing)?....

Oh, are these the folks who were spinning the barrels electrically, but using a crank to fire the gun? I'd been hearing rumors about that for several years. Nice idea, glad they got the BATF to admit it was ok.

From what I gathered by the rumors, they used the motor to do the heavy work of turning the barrels, but used the hand-powered crank to feed ammunition into the firing mechanism. So it's still technically a manual operation to fire each round, but most of the effort is offloaded to the electric motor.

But I haven't seen the article, much less the actual gun. I'd be interested in any details that MJRowley (or anyone else) knows.

Yes that gun on the cover and in the pics is DeGroates gun. I took the pics i posted on here the same time Jeff was taking his pics for the SAR. You can even see Jeff in one or two of my pics.

Where are you guys getting this thing is a manually operated gun?

There were rumors going around a few years ago in WA that someone was building an electrically-cranked Gatling which used manual cranking to feed the ammunition in, and that the BATF had ruled it legal. Supposedly going into production Real Soon Now (as of like five years ago). I'm still waiting to see it.
