How much does a M16 cost? I keep hearing alot but when I look at prices It seems to be very little.

Reading helps a little bit. That Does not include the Lower Reciever. |
They cost the military maybe $500 each, plus or minus, bought in large quantities. If you or I want one we have to buy a registered transferrable that was registered before May 1986, and prices range from $9-10,000 for a converted clone to a high end of $18-20,000 for a new in box M16A2. |
Where are you looking at prices that are "very little"? Bob |
If you join one of the armed services, they will pay you to play with one.
OMG people read that page carefully! |
I plan on it. Couldn't I just take a AR15 and register the lower reciver as a machine gun? |
Jeezus - sarcasm has escaped some people. If I would have put would you think I was joking? |
You, my friend, are either a moron or an ATF plant. Mods, can we do an IP check to see if he is posting from a treasury department address? |
Your innocence is almost 'cute'. |
I paid about $1800 for mine. Of course this was a few years ago.
O FUCK THEY COUGHT ME QUICK BURN ALL THE MONEY AND THE CUMPTERS. This seems like a violation of my rights to own a machine gun. Shit! What other machine guns could I get with out costing more then 1000? Hows about a Uzi or a Mac. I must be able to take down the commies when they come to take my rights away. |
We haven't been able to register new machine guns since 1986. No more, that is why transferrable machine guns are so expensive. |
Just about 20 years too late... |

Are you not aware that the only M16's that can be owned by regular private citizens are the limited number that are listed in the NFA registry (as well as the limited number of DIAS and lightning links)? Because there is a relatively small number of them - the prices are VERY high, because no new "transferable" ones can be added to the registry. About 10K for a registered M16 reciever sounds about right. You can "create" new SBR (short barreled rifles) as a private citizen, but NOT full-auto rifles. You either have to buy an existing one in the NFA registry, or be a manufacturer (or a dealer who is buying a demonstration sample for LEO or other similar use). . |

yep, definitely an ATF plant. |
Those are just uppers. |
fuck. What countries on earth would let me have a machine gun for a very cheap price? How much does it cost to become a manfacturer. |
I wish I was born about 30 years earlier than I was. I would own a lot of machine guns. |
I wish I was born 45 years ago then I would need a fuckin building to put all them in. |
Maybe you should work on graduating high school first, then work on that goal. |
If you go to the Congo or the Sudan, you can probably pick up a full-auto AK-47/AKM for 50 bucks. Of course the locals might kill you, rape you and then eat you (hopefully in that order ) |
Somalia. Iraq. etc. You can have the war torn shithole of your choice. |
Everyone has a dream. Unless I become a lawer who makes 400 dollars a hour It looks like mine will never happen. |

Somalia. I will buy a gaint fence and a 5 square miles of land a .50 caliber sniper rifle and a tower right in the middile. And you are all invited. I might put in a privite run way. So you don't have to be shot at as you come. |
That will never happen. For the most part, lawyers know how to spell. |
