A statement and a contest.

On either tuesday or wednesday, I will deposit some money in my bank and as soon as it shows up, I will purchase myself a team membership here. I finally have a little money, so I'll pony up and contribute.

Now, I tried to have a contest for a previous landmark, but nobody bothered replying. So, we'll try again. The rules are as follows:

Send me (the address is MagKnightX(at)gmail(dot)com) or post in this thread an essay of a maximum of 3600 characters (no minimum) detailing what you would do with $3600 dollars. The most creative, funniest, or best use will get awarded the prize of something related to 3600. It could be 3600 of some currency, 3600 millimeters of wire, a piece of artwork centering around the number 3600, or anything. The catch is, I decide. It will be worth more than a dollar (based on materials cost and average fees for creating such a thing, or the actual value of the object), but I will find the prize and send it to the winner.

C'mon, I'm trying to give something away for free here. What have you got to lose?

Edit: contest opens immediately, contest closes at 1357 EST April 9

I'm going to enter as a post.
My essay:
If you gave me $3600.00, I would donate it to 82ndAbn.
The end.

Winner.

Myself, If you gave me $3600.00, I would use it to help pay for my mom's future tumor surgeries and my stepdad's knee surgery recovery process.

I would use it to train several pretty, single women to be fast and accurate, up close, from concealment, with a small .22 auto, and the word would spread that such a thing was both fun and useful. More women will do same, then 10x as many men will have to do better, using .45's, of course. LOL.

If you gave me $3600, I would probably blow it all on hookers and blow.

The end.

Bump for more replys.

First, a hint as to what the gift will be: it will be metallic silver in color and fairly heavy.

Second, I thought I could paypal the money for team membership but I guess I can't, so check goes in the mail tomorrow.

I would use the $3600 to start a campaign to improve the image of Wolf Ammunition (hey, they offer brass cased ammo now).

I'd replace all my knifemaking equipment that got destoyed in a fire, buy enough raw materials to send 50 knives to Soldiers and Marines in  the Sandbox, and tools to build AR's and AK's for them when they return.

If you gave me $3600 I would use $3000 to buy 4 new tires for my truck and get the alignment fixed and pay off a debt I have and then with the remaining $600 I would buy myself a membership that cost $24 and then I would hold 24 contests over a period of time to give away 24 memberships that would be worth $24 each.

Membership's gone through.

Bump. Come on, these entries are few and far between!

Okay. You have slightly over an hour.

The prize will be a custom ingot, cast in pewter. It will be appr. 2.5" deep, 3" wide, and .5" tall, and has the words "AR15.com 3600" on it in raised lettering. Receipt of the prize will be delayed, unfortunately, as I have to get my hands on some pewter and I'm having difficulty with that. It will, however, be unique; the mold will be broken and the original carving will be destroyed. Display it proudly or use it as a paperweight to show your love of this website.

Final decision as to the winner will be made by 1357EDT tomorrow.

Sorry.  If your just getting around to buying a membership, you're not going to give away $3,600.00 .

I'll take 3,600 your giving away.  I'll put it to good use.  As long as you pay the shipping.

I can't believe we only got 2 pages worth of posts. I'm offering free stuff here. Oh, well.

Some good entries, ranging from helping 82ndAbn to the clichéd "hookers and blow" and "2 girls at once." But the winner is...

the ass-wiping monkey. Laughed for about a minute on that one. So, Beltfedleadhead, PM me your name and shipping address and you'll receive a AR15.com paperweight/trophy/head-knocker as soon as it's cast.
