Made it to the show toward the end of the event. Weather was poor, so I really only shot the flying displays. These are a quick cull of the roughtly 1000 images shot.

Great pics!  The B-17 pics are outstanding, of course I'm a little biased as I work for Boeing.

Someday you'll see a flyable B-29, it is being restored at the Boeing Wichita facility by all volunteer labor.

Damn DavidC...  That's a helluva camera you got there...

I was going up 183 yesterday afternoon to look at some dogs when that chrome 4 engine beast skimmed over the treetops...
What a sight...

Partial Hijack, but that TBF Avenger, what does that upward pointing arrow on the tail signify?  I've seen it on other WW2 era Navy and/or Marine aircraft.

Fixed an open tag that was stopping a half dozen pics from showing. The deatils on the event can be found here: www.maam.org/maamwwii.html  It's unfortunate that neither the B-24 nor B-29 were able to make it, though seeing one of the two flyable Lancasters in the world was very cool.

Very nice!

I gotta get out to see one of those sometime ... one of my old classmates flies his P51 at some of the local southeastern PA airshows.

Wow!  I bet that Lancaster sounded GREAT!  I LOVE the sound of a Rolls Royce Merlin... four of them would have given me wood!

GREAT pictures!  Thanks for sharing them!  Those old birds are just so beautiful... I'm so glad people have the love to keep them flying.

I used two bodies and three lenses

Canon 5D with either the EF 17-40 F4.0L or Sigma 70-200 F2.8 EX DG/HSM
Canon 20D with the EF 400 F5.6L

The P51 was owned and flown by the father of the the P40 pilot. They were doing mock dogfights as we stood in line for the shuttle bus for an hour

I so wanted to go to this show, but we have a 1 month old baby who wouldn't handle the long drive and outdoors very well, especially with the crap weather. Definitely going next year with the family. Thanks for sharing the pics!

Another airshow in two weeks. Hope I've got a better feel for what I need to get some good photgraphs. Modern aircraft are much faster and should be tougher to shoot. Also don't know how close I'll be able to get to the runway at NAS Willow Grove . They posted some major restrictinons on the website for the event.
