I vote fake for me.

I just don't have the heart to cut a living thing down to just throw it away a few weeks later. With some of the fake trees you see today, you can hardly tell the difference anyway.

I can save a bit over time with one tree, too.

Yeah, I know. I'm a closet tree-hugger.

Your Jewish constituents will want to vote for a "Menorah," spell dude.

It's gotta be real, but I can't talk since we'll be out of town so didn't buy one this year.  We have a substitute little fake tree.

Neither, I don't feel the need to line the pockets of Chinese factory owners to celebrate the birth of my Lord.

I'll tree it up when/if I have kids though.

I might go plant a tree in December.

This poll is racist.  There is no option for a Kwanzaa Cup, Kwazaa Mat or Kwanzaa Corn Cob, or Kevin, the Kwanzaa Kleenex.

I abstain.

When I was growing up, we ALWAYS had real candles on the tree, and while we always had a bucket of water handy, we never caught a tree on fire.  (In retrospect, a good fire extinguisher would probably have been better - given how well pine/spruce burns ).

I'll try to remember to post a picture after Christmas this year (and hopefully not one like Penguin_101 posted).

I do have to admit that one Christmas in the army, a tree with candles did catch fire in the sergeant's mess.  But, to be fair, it was because one of the other sergeants knocked it over while drunk.

My real tree is in the front yard decorated, i have a fake in the house, iv'e been a fireman over 10 years and there are at least 5 fires enery year due to drying trees and cheap ass 6 ft. extension cords. Plus electrical heaters.

Fake. A good fake. Light a scented candle and ya can't tell the difference.

Buy it once, and no goddamn needles and cleanup in a couple weeks.

I'm gonna try something new this year. Going to the wash and going to cut down a young mesquite tree with no ants on it. Gonna use that it I can find a decent looking one.

My parents have had the same fake tree since I was born, that means the tree is at least 27 years old.  Still looks awesome, still looks real, and no other tree looks "right" to me.

Vaccuming up the needles is part of the fun.

For the next month everytime you run the vaccum the house smells like Christmas.

I wouldn't get caught dead with a fake tree.  A man has to have standards!

Cutting your own tree as a family is a good Christmas memories-builder for the kids.

I grew up with fake trees (my mom was overwhelmingly terrified of real trees' fire issues). We even had an aluminum tree for many years.

So.....We buy the biggest real tree that will fit in our living room.

I wanted a fake tree but the man won't have it. He wanted to go cut our own and I said no he can go cut it if he wants it so bad but at least I said we can get a real one but damn we don't need to cut it ourselves. I hate Christmas ....to me it's not about all that stuff. I put up my Nativity set and I am happy. We do have small ones in the family no though so I said yes for them.

I am a purist also, so REAL!   But, I have to admit the prices are getting very high it seems.  Last year it was $75 or $80 for a 8ft tree.  Maybe this year we will go for a smaller live tree and plant it afterward.

We paid $25 for a cut-your-own Blue Spruce that is 8' tall.

Soon as I had my own place I had a real tree and have had them ever since.

I'm a fake tree convert ... We always had a real tree growing up, and once my wife and I bought a house we did real trees for a few years, but after the expense, and mess, and mess, and mess, and having to dispose of it after the holidays, and mess ... we got a good looking plastic tree a few years ago, and are hooked ... drag it out of the attic the day after T-day, leave it up until the first week of the new year, no watering, no vacuuming, no bugs, looks absolutely perfect, and has paid for itself in what we would've spent over the past 3 Holidays.

What with MaDanby being allergic to trees we've had and the dogs maybe doing things we don't want them to do, a really nice artificial tree does it for us.  In any case once you hang stuff the way we do, you really can't tell.
