I have seen worse. I was reading comp.lang.c (I think -- this was probably close to ten years ago) when this idiot flamed the hell out of someone offering C advice because he was posting via some Windows product. The content of the flamage was essentially that no one using a M$ product could possible know anything about C in UNIX. The person he was flaming was Dennis Richie. I had to recompile trn on my box to be able to read the threads because the posts went on so long. Later, that same guy flamed Larry Wall about perl skillz and got a similar response.
Presumably he posts on arfcom in the supressor forums now. |

I am pretty sure that he didn't have a clue. When the flames started (and people were emailing each other to watch the train wreck and post, so this went around the world in 24 hours and people were flaming him whose grasp of English was, to be kind, somewhat tenuous), he seemed to think that it was because he criticized someone posting from a Bell Labs IP. It took a few hours for him to catch on that Dennis was more than a lab assistant there. When the same thing happened with Wall, it was in the same spirit of profound ignorance. I don't think that it was performance art. |

To save everyone the pain of reading through it, some guy posts about how he won $63k at an online casino and bought his NSX with it.
It turned out he was just spamming the board with a link to the online casino site, which he owns, which got a few members there upset. This led to some members investigating him and his home address was posted, which he denied as being his current address. This led to some members threatening to get his website terminated because he didn't update ICANN, therefor not updating his whois info. Oh yeah, and someone posted a pic of the guy that was found on a .gov site where the guy was listed as a registered sex offender for "unlawful carnal knowledge of a minor, 13-15 years old".

Some pwnage going on at the GTO board as well. For the past month or so this dude has been in the detailing section of the forum trashing well known and respected products such as Zaino and Tropicare with apparent "in depth" chemical analysis of the products. He claimed to have a Chemical Engineering degree from Carnige Melon University, and on the surface his posts seemed credible to a layperson. This then led to him marketing "his own" brand of wax at $225 for an 8oz bottle, and no i did not double tap the 2 key, that's $225 for 8oz. He was widely criticized for the outrageous price, but as with anything there were several people with far more cash than sense and wanted to try the new great thing.
