I seem to recall something about Mr. Eastwood voting for Hillary in 08. It was on Mike Savage's website but I don't know if it still is.
Spike Lee (the little fucking twerp) couldn't hold Mr Eastwood's jockstrap.
Spike can go call Al Sharpton and march somewhere, boycott the film and generate press for Spikes upcoming documentary film,
Obama'Rama in the great Oh-Eight Produced by 40 acres and a mule... |
Clint didn't mess around did he! |
Hit the poll!
Whose side are you on? Team Clint 95% 24,104 Team Spike 5% 1,263 |

Eastwood is a McCain supporter... he knows McCain and has donated this year to his Campaign. Eastwood did chime in a couple weeks ago and said he thought they were trying to bully Hillary out of the race and that she had every right to fight on if she wanted, which I agreed with at the time and which just happens to have been to be best thing for McCain. I ain’t as bit surprised Mike Weiner being the slime ball he is would distort that. |

From the article.
"When I do a picture and it's 90% black, like 'Bird,' I use 90% black people," said Eastwood, referring to his 1998 film about jazz musician Charlie "Bird" Parker. Eastwood brought up the last time Lee complained about his filmmaking choices. "He was complaining when I did Bird (the 1988 biopic of Charlie Parker). Why would a white guy be doing that? I was the only guy who made it, that's why. He could have gone ahead and made it. Instead he was making something else." Lee's next film is "Miracle at St. Anna," about the all-black 92nd Buffalo Division that fought in Tuscany, Italy during World War II. Eastwood's next project, meanwhile, is about Nelson Mandela and his fight to heal the wounds of apartheid in South Africa. Eastwood said he'll stay true the story when it's time to cast that film, titled "The Human Factor." Being as Clint has had Morgan Freeman in 2 of his films, and as stated in the article is making a film about Mandela, Lee's hint of racism is laughable at best. Notice how Lee implies that Clint said that blacks were insignificant and didn't exist in WW2 |

Now Spike can only lay claim to 40 acres because he's already a jackass.
I'm sure that Spike is upset because if HE did the movie, there would have been black Japanese soldiers! |
Joke or not got to love that. |
Team Clint 95% 26,859 Team Spike 5% 1,416 |
Because he carried an AK in a movie role? |
There's no excuse for Clint Eastwood not giving James Earl Jones the role of a Japanese officer with Denzel Washington as his plucky Platoon Sergeant.
Re the picture in the Guardian article: Is Clint trying to show how tolerant he is by posing with a pimp?
"This is the AK-47 assault rifle, the preferred weapon of your enemy, and it makes a distinctive noise when fired at you. Remember it." Heartbreak Ridge. |

"Be advised. I'm mean, nasty and tired. I eat concertina wire and piss napalm and I can put a round in a flea's ass at 200 meters. So why don't you go hump somebody else's leg, mutt face, before I push yours in."
Oh, I know the movie. I was just wondering if we were supposed to love him because he used an AK in a movie. I seem to recall Rosie O'Donnell, Jodie Foster, and others using guns in movies too, and there's no love lost for them. Clint Eastwood on gun control (From Crossfire, 2000): "Yes, I've always supported a certain amount of gun control. I don't -- I think California has always had a mandatory waiting period, so we were never concerned about it like the rest of the country. Some states didn't have any at all. So I've always supported that. I think it's very important that guns don't get in the wrong hands, and, yes, I would support most of that." |

Good for Clint. I always like him and his movies.
Spike Lee is no where near the caliber of film maker that Clint is. Spike's movies are the same crap over and over again. Spike is a racist film maker, pure and simple. |
I guess he's the only one in there not voting for Obama!! Couldn't take being alienated.
Spike Lee has always tried to be what Michael Moore. He just didn't have the ability to collect as many lunatic, foaming-at-the-mouth supporters. It's probably due to racism. |
Well, Spike doesn't have many whites in his movies. So, what goes around, comes around.
If he wants his people in a WWII movie, then fukin make one 'ya mutt!
Well, Clint could have shown the black Marines who worked as stevedores on the beachheads... but then again, while accurate (but I dunno about Iwo Jima), it would be demeaning. Besides, the movie was about raising the flag, not the swabbies who shelled the island, the coasties who piloted the landing craft, the truckers who drove the supplies forward or the stevedores who unloaded the barges. Spike Lee can make his own flick and if he wants a good topic, he should do the United States Colored Troops who fought with the French in WW I. The French thought the world of them and showered them with medals. Now that's a story worth telling.
Clint Eastwood - one of the last real men left alive in Hollywood, now that we lost Charlton Heston.
Hope I die before all of the great ones are gone. This new generation of punks taking over the world now make me sick. As for Spike, he should make a movie of himself fucking himself, and call it "A Spike Lee Joint." |
In other words: "I'm a black man speaking on an issue I perceive as racial, therefore I'm above reproach." S |
There ya go injecting logic into his 'feelings' issues.... You know as well as I do that if Clint had made a point of showing the stevedores unloading the landing craft, and they'd all been black, or a good portion, then SL would have screamed "Racism! He's showing them doing the slave labor, not up-front leading the troops!" |
Christ, we are one step away from the ACLU dictating how many minorities are supposed to be in each movie we see. Must have a certain percentage otherwise its a racist move and sends the wrong message to our kids.
i'm not positive but i seem to remember eastwood getting NUMEROUS awards from minority groups for his use of them on and off screen. i'm positive he got an "image" award.
I'm sure there had to be black Japanese somewhere. If there are black Vulcans in Star Trek there must be black Japanese somewhere in that movie dammit!!
BTW: IBTL |
I've wanted to tell spike lee to shut his face for oh about 15 years or more now. Tell him again clint I don't think he heard you correctly the first time.
Yeah, he said the right thing but let's not forget - he's still a leftist.
I just don't care what a man's politics are as long as he doesn't make them a point. I like This man's movies. Period.
