I just added up all my 22LR and I have about 17k rounds.  I'm debating buying another 5k.

How much do you have laying around?

Not enough. I seem to go through a rotation pretty quickly.

Probably 4-5K.

Time to go use some in just a short while now.

I'd say 3-4,000 rounds. Certainly, not enough!

I have a 2500 pack of Russian Vostok Target ammo that is sealed in waterproof paper. I got it around Christmas from Sportsman's Guide but it seems to have disappeared since then. Bummer.

I just started stocking up on it, every time I shoot I put 5 rounds "in the pot" there's probably about 200-300 rounds in there now, not nearly enough, but its a start.

I been buying 6 to 8 value packs/month for the last 15 months or so, and shooting a pack or three of it every month, I haven't counted what I actually got stored, but it's added up to a nice amount after that bit of time.

Just under 40k but working towards 100k, which is my goal. Just FYI, a 40MM ammo can will hold just about 40000 rnds in the 50rnd boxes. I have my second can in hot stand by and I need to refurbish the third can which I have on hand.

Just as an added notation...

It's not just about *how much* .22LR you have....

It's about how much **quality** .22LR you have.

All .22LR ammo is not created equal.

Make sure you're stockpiling ammo that works flawlessly in all of your .22LR handguns and rifles.

Right at 45k of CCI Blazer, which works in my guns.  I've shot about 15k rounds of it, had a total of four ammo-related jams across the three .22's that I own.

Can you imagine the police report... "lone survivalist arrested on suspicious behavior. Over 100,000 rounds of ammo recovered, or enough firepower to level his entire town. Twice." followed by comments "no one needs that much ammo" and the local state or federal representative chiming in "my new bill will limit the amount of evil child killing ammo to no more than 5 rounds per household..."

Whenever I shop at Walmart, I buy finish all my other shopping and then swing by sporting goods. If someone is there at the register, I will buy one 500 rd Box of Federal Champion for $12.80. This way I get to skip the lines at the front of the store and pick up a box of .22 for a great price. This plan has me up to 20k or so rounds.
