Thanks,

Figured something seemed oddly off when I was installing it.

Looks like I'll order a kit and remount it.

Thanks again.

That wasn't my statement.  I've got a SOCOM rep coming here within the next month and I'll ask him.  Haven't heard anything hence my lack of comments.

I feel like I'm being targeted . It was just a general question, I don't even currently have a urg-i clone.

9.1M is the contract maximum amount:

Fiscal 2022 operations and maintenance (Navy) funds of $3,000 will be obligated at the time of award, of which $3,000 will expire at the end of the current fiscal year

So $3000 in barrels for FY2022 is all that was oblagated of the 9.1M.

Understood.

Its like saying we might buy these barrels so be ready to make them.

Still you don't award a contract like that if you are not going to probably take deliveries in the coming years.

$9.1 million is a lot of barrels.

Awhile back, (ETA @M4AZ) did a rad job of cloning the 3rd Special Forces Group rifle. This is my feeble attempt to get close to that. Really digging the T2--I've never had one before.

Has anyone seen any FN's in the wild on a URG-I, etc? I have seen block 1/1.5 set ups (mostly out of Afghanistan). I have also seen plenty of FN uppers on URGIs, but not an FN lower. My understanding is that FN snatched Colt's contract in 2014, so we should see them at some point, right?

Because the majority of SOF forces had purchased their M4A1s back in 95'.  Only MARSOC is newly formed, and I haven't seen their guns yet.  Those in Astan were Theater Property Equipment (TPE).  Units here have additional guns on TPE and those currently are all Colt in my AO.

I have a beautiful FN lower from the collector series, and a surplus upper, that I am dying to build a clone with. But not a block 1/1.5...

Mostly finished the 14.5 for now, still need a safety & sight for the 11.5. The Tango MSR is a place holder until I find the cash for it’s more expensive brother or something else.

Not "clone specific" but it's what I could build for my take on a 10.5.

Question for you guys that have the DD barrel that comes with the pinned gas block.  Do the gas blocks have a single hole in the bottom that is NOT threaded for a screw?  I believe I have one from a previous 10.3” barrel that I sold.

I've had mine for years, but I believe the 2A Pro is the current model of what i have.  Says it fits Vltor, BCM, and Rainier blocks.

My DD gas block would fit about half way into it without modification.  I used a round file in the top and a couple passes along the top angled sides with a flat file.  Just enough to allow it to fit in.  The DD gas block is extremely close to a BCM gas block in dimensions, with the BCM having more meat on the bottom to accommodate the set screws.  The location of the pin hole should line up identically once drilled.  I'm going to use the BCM gas block with the set screws to drill the initial hole, that way I can keep the barrel from rotating as I initiate the drilling. Then put the DD block on and cut a 2/0 taper.
