lol...it's the only stuff i could afford right now...(saving money for eotech or acog).as far as I could tell the only thing made by NCstar on the M4 was the scope and the reflex sight...reflex sight I use more than the scope as it co-witness with the fr/ rear sights pretty well...I've put hundreds of rounds on the M4 with this setup...so far no probs ...why what's wrong with the Ncstar?...I thought they were based in the US?...are they poorly made?...I really like this forum and am open to suggestions etc...Thanks!

Knightenforcer,
I am glad you get out and enjoy your AR... If you are happy (For now) with your NCstar use it until you can get something better. Remove the scope due to the statement you made above.

Hard to follow mfingar with those mods for my modest Bushy.  Here it is anyway - done for now with the scope, bipod, tac grip with palm rest and a couple of 20 rounders.

Well I call up the gun shop today and ask if he's open and he says no because he went to something at 4 pm when he was supposed to go to it at 7 or 8 am. So then I ask if he got a package for me from Michigan and he says yeah, he got it Saturday but he hasn't gotten the serial # in the book yet. So now I have to wait 'til tomorrow to get the Colt lower. This waiting is killing me...

No, you're not nearly as bad. You have an Aimpoint and NV for it. He has a scope on the carry handle and a red dot sight on the handguards...what's the point in that? Just a place to put it?

Hey man, don't let these accessory junkies get you down.  Your setup might not cost a gajillion dollars, but yours does what you want it to for now, unlike mine.  I'm still waiting for the money to finish it up...  Keep in mind once you get what you want, you can sell the stuff you decide not to keep...

Still waiting on his Eotech and Surefire, and then it will be done...  I hope...

Well to answer your question, the scope on the handle has a "see thru" base, and you can actually use the front and rear iron sights, oh and it works pretty well with the reflex sight mounted on the handguard, has 4 settings for the reticle and goes to zero everytime even after dozens of rounds.(you just have to make sure that the adjustment locking screws are tight) Hope I answered your question, k..thanks!

but if you are going to have to take the time to peep through the scope mount, you aren't getting the full use out of the OKO or whoever makes it...

Mfingar's mag is a BetaC mag.

I know what you mean, if i use the indoor range i prefer to use the iron sights with the reflex(25-30 yards)...being that I have a flattop, I could easily take out the scope or leave it on depending on where or how far my target is.(like in an outdoor range 50 yards or so) If you think about it it's a good set up to have esp if your scope gets damaged, ran out of batteries etc...you'll still be able to use an alternative sighthttp://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e8/knightenforcer/DSC01041.jpg

I wonder sometimes why people here have 4 feet of necked rails?  Do they have cars with 6 tires that don't touch the ground?  Toasters with 6 slots they won't put toast in?  TV's with 4 screens .....

It's like the cars at the shows that don't run and are trailered there.  What is a car that wont run?  Is it still a car?  Kinda misses the point.

If a rail in the woods has no optics can you see it?  Is this transparent enough yet?...

I'm guessing you're talking about something like this?  Maybe there's reasons for having an extended rail that you haven't figured out yet.
BTW, where's your picture in the picture thread?

Thanks for pointing out how stupid I am for having "nekked" rails.  I should have asked Steve at ADCO to offer this upper with regular handguards.  It really is stupid to freefloat the handguards when I have a 0.90" fluted SS barrel.  At least I trimmed off the front 2" of really useless rail...

Oh crap!  Look- I can put a bipod on when I choose too and it won't affect my POA/POI !

I'm thinking of replacing the front gas block with flip up but not sure if I can.  I think that the flash hider is permanently attached so not sure if I can remove gas block.
Its a work in progress :)

I would assume it is since there is no bayo lug- it's probably a post-ban and they permanently attached it so there would be no threaded muzzle which is a no-no.

GUESS WHAT B_D GOT TODAY!!!

My $600 all Colt SP1. (with all my Flecktarn gear...yes I know the webgear is French and the helmet is US.)

What's weird is that the color match is pretty much the exact opposite of what it was with the Mega. Eh, the lower needs a refinishing anyway.

You can shave the existing FSB off and put a flip up sight like this if you have the FS permanently attached which I seriosly doubt. For example Colt R6551 has exactly same looking upper than yours without the bayo lug and all.
