Hello All,

I have a Colt pre ban lower made in 1993 that's the original Colt gray color and in nice shape. I also have a new Colt A1 upper that I want to get refinished so the upper will match the lower in color. I was wondering if anyone had any idea of who could refinish my upper, and what color / type of finish should be used on it. Any help would appreciated.

Thanks,

1981

Did you blast? 120 aluminum oxide? TCE prep? Or some other means to strip. Just curious- looking to refinnish a few and that matches with your lower very well.

No, there is no need to blast a receiver.  I suggest reading the AR15 refinishing write up, it should answer most question on the first page of the thread.
