I thought one was for the thicker barrel.  Which one fits best with the LMT 10.5" barrel?

Alright, who's is this?

www.konstipation.com/stuff/yank/seal/

There is a huge pile of MK18 pics scattered throughout.
Along with some other amazing pics.

*close to MK18, but a bad-ass pic nonetheless...

Good EOD stuff as well...

They really are phasing out the 10.5" barrels for 14.5"s aren't they?

Hi-Res

For all intents - those are Mk18s - (right down to the screwy Aimpoint mounting )

Don't know. Ran across it on a completely non-gun related forum. Guy was posting a pic of a family member serving overseas. No mention of how old the pic is. I resized the image and blocked out the faces. Image name is unchanged with the exception of "Copyof".

?  If someone else posted the picture on an internet forum without the faces blocked out, why would you then block them out when posting them here?

why not? I did the same for a presentation at school. Not everyone has to completely ignore persec even if others do...its a nice gesture if anything.

If you are not sure..then its smart to take an extra step, or just not post them

If it's a dedicated .22LR, you can actually run it as a 14.5" correct? (or at least pretty close to it.)
Are you planning 14.5" OAL with perm f/h, or keeping it longer with removable f/h?

Oh yeah, let's keep the pics going...

Nice little group of shootin' sticks.

I think my mk18 clone will use  a TRUE 14.5" looking barrel with PERM A2 and

my GUU-5P clone will use a .22lr barrel that is like a 5.56 14.7" barrel to keep the A2 f/h removable

ETA--the .22LR barrels are gonna be a b*tch......

because you can build correct looking clones of the

605
XM177E2 (and similiar 11.5" barrels with perm 4.5" "fake" moderator)
14.5" clones,(M4 and others)

This is a pic of a good friend of mine - who at the time - had been called back up for duty with NSW Team 3. Good guy. Anyway, nice look at a Mk18 in the sandbox.
Sorry for the quality of the pic. It is a scan of a old printed copy. Couldn't find the original.

Those that use the Mk12s (SPR) tend to be on the shy side when cameras show up. The SDMRs were only issued to the 3ID, and there seem to be a few pictures of the SAMRs, I managed to find one of the PRE KAC front sight setup.

One item to note, KAC recommended not using a cover on the top of the rail.  Says it traps too much heat.

No worries FREE; mine isn't an exact clone either, but it's close enough for my broke ass.  The M68 Aimpoint mount I had was far too low so this is how it sits with a new extra-high 1" mount; much better for the co-witness.  Just need a SOPMOD stock now...

NOOB ALERT

I haven't read through this entire thread, but I have a question.  I have a RRA 16".  If I wanted to go to a 10.5, would I just simply need to get a new upper without doing anything to my lower assembly?
