I had a Vorex that mushroomed out under heavy, heavy fire. Smith Ent replaced it for free with a new style. I got it and it is built like a tank. I have an older Phantom with the teeth and you saw what happened to that Hawkeye... you fixed it!
The rifle got dropped (not by me!) and one of the teeth on the Phantom bent out. I doubt this would happen with the newer Phantoms without teeth, but I am pretty dang sure it would not happen to the newer Vortex. The thing is made from some heavy duty metal and is thick, thick, thick.
This combined with the better flash suppression and increase of accuracy made the Vortex my choice for the go-to gun. Phantom is still a great unit though and I have one on another gun.
