MY OWN PERSONAL RECON I BUILT TONITE. I WAS UP TILL 3AM ON THIS ONE

Guys,

Here is what I have in done. I am going to do a small run(30 Initially) of complete upper receivers.
Options that can be included are different rail systems by DD, Troy MRFs or LaRue. Barrels may be left in standard SS machined finish or bead blasted matte or coated OD, Black, Tan or Coyote Brown at extra cost or Lauer Dura Heat coated black. Standard bolt carrier is AR15 Enhanced, but Young Mfg Chrome NM carrier can be added. Various gas block front sights such as PRI or YHM can be added. We are using gas blocks by Vince Jiga (builder of the Crane SPRs) or PRI. Rails can be 9.0 as pictured or 12.0 over the gas block for a longer forearm.

1. 16" light contour match grade stainless barrel by White Oak Armament. Option of being coated in Lauer DuraHeat or Dura Coat for colors. Barrels are individually custom chambered and headspaced with its own bolt by John Holliger at WOA. Accuracy will be sub MOA. With the right ammo and shooter most likely wayyy sub MOA.
2. Mid length gas sytstem for low recoil impulse
3. Wylde chamber with headspaced bolt. Bolt with be upgraded with Wolf ejector spring and SPR O ring under the extractor.
4. Several gas blocks and front sights available
5. These uppers will have an enhanced bolt carrier standard. Young Mfg NM on request at extra cost.
6. Charging handles will have a choice of PRI or Badger Ord. tac latch, Gen 1 or Gen 2
7. 1:7 twist
8. Standard rifle barrel extension OR M4
9. Wylde chamber
10. Barrel is 8.40 in front of the chamber and tapers to .740 behind front sight VS .640 on M4 for more chamber support and a more rigid barrel.
11. Weight of barrel at 1lb 14oz. is only 4-5 oz heaver than M4 but much stronger than M4
12. Balance point of the rifle is excellent.

These barrels will be installed on our excellent CMT flat top "T" numbered upper receivers.

The idea here is a fast handling, very accurate carbine upper for competition, defense or just plain
fun at an afforable price. Price will vary according to options.

Thanks for the bump. I think for an all around carbine this barrel is the ticket. Accurate, reliable, well balanced and Mid length gas, and 1:7 twist.

Denny, just received the machined finish one...that barrel is a piece of art !!!! very nicely balanced...also I noticed it has M4 feed ramps too..guess I will have to order a CMT flat top with M4 feed ramps now :)

also great customer service from GTS, Denny kept me updated on the barrel status...

Really? His for sale post indicated that an M4 extension was not available, due to then needing the higher cost LMT upper.

My barrel is in the mail.

well yeah..I was very surprised...I looked at it real quick last night...it was late but I think those are m4 feed ramps...I'll try to post a picture later tonight...plus now u can get CMT uppers with feed ramps for the same price than regular CMT...i could care less to have an LMT upper..

actually my bad..after going through that m4 feed ramps thread I think those are regular feeds and not the M4 ones...back to plan A :) no need for me to buy another upper..woo woo...sorry for the confusion...it was late last night...

It's too bad these barrels don't have M4 ramps. I have a LMT upper that I'd like to replace the M4 barrel with one of these babies, but the reciever is milled for a barrel extention with the M4 ramps. Regular rifle extentions are a no go.... oh well

Hey dennysguns, i posted this hear too because i read you were having e mail trouble. I hope this is no bother.

heres what i am looking at

i want to get and mid length upper that is serious on accuracy and will ballistically work with a TA01 acog.

I would like a price no a flat top mid length gas system that i would like to put a free floating mid length larue rail system on down the road. Is it possible to have a midlength that i can put handguards on and then change over to the FF larue system?

I would like a gas block without a flip up sight and a standard a2 FS. I am tring to keep it short as legal will let me.

and i would like it finished in black to matcha RRA lower.

The Jiga block is basically the SPR block, similar looking to the PRI block only made of hardened parkerized tool steel. The space between the two allen screws on the bottom is the correct .300 as per the Crane block. George and myself compared these blocks with blocks on actual Crane SPR barrels and blocks to confirm the hole spacing is correct and it is. The only difference we could ascertain between these blocks dimensions and the Crane blocks is few thousnaths width on the very bottom.

These are extemely well made blocks.

since I have the barrel , I would say you need:

flatop + delta ring/barrel nut..
barrel
mid lenght gas tube + pin
FSB
FH
mid length hand guards
bolt carrier
charging handle
bolt staking key..

It's a Schmidt & Bender 1.1-4x

Took it out today, functioned flawlessly. Groups left a little to be desired, but I blame that on the 7 lb trigger in this lower

. i'll take my SPR lower w/ KAC trigger in it next time and report the results.

Purple, I dont see any purple? Yeah, I know. So is its little brother, carbine FF RAS. But they only look like that in pics & I am secure enough in my manhood to carry a purple rifle.
