Thanks for the bump. I think for an all around carbine this barrel is the ticket. Accurate, reliable, well balanced and Mid length gas, and 1:7 twist. Denny |
Denny, just received the machined finish one...that barrel is a piece of art !!!! very nicely balanced...also I noticed it has M4 feed ramps too..guess I will have to order a CMT flat top with M4 feed ramps now :)
also great customer service from GTS, Denny kept me updated on the barrel status... William |
Really? His for sale post indicated that an M4 extension was not available, due to then needing the higher cost LMT upper. My barrel is in the mail. |
well yeah..I was very surprised...I looked at it real quick last night...it was late but I think those are m4 feed ramps...I'll try to post a picture later tonight...plus now u can get CMT uppers with feed ramps for the same price than regular CMT...i could care less to have an LMT upper..
Guess I'll just have to wait and see what arrives 'cause I was going to use a no-ramp Bushmaster upper.
Big M4 feedramp thread |
actually my bad..after going through that m4 feed ramps thread I think those are regular feeds and not the M4 ones...back to plan A :) no need for me to buy another upper..woo woo...sorry for the confusion...it was late last night...
It's too bad these barrels don't have M4 ramps. I have a LMT upper that I'd like to replace the M4 barrel with one of these babies, but the reciever is milled for a barrel extention with the M4 ramps. Regular rifle extentions are a no go.... oh well

Hey Denny -
Is there something going on with your e-mail account? I've tried to e-mail you twice now. The first time I got nothing and the second one got bounced back? Do me a favor and shoot me an e-mail when you get a chance. Thanks |

What does the "Vince Jiga" gas block look like? Specs?
Is it possible to get these with FSB holes cut? -z |
It looks like the PRI, but is much better made.... C4 |

quick question:
what is the difference between coated black and Lauer Dura heat coated ? thanks William |
Hey dennysguns, i posted this hear too because i read you were having e mail trouble. I hope this is no bother.
heres what i am looking at i want to get and mid length upper that is serious on accuracy and will ballistically work with a TA01 acog. I would like a price no a flat top mid length gas system that i would like to put a free floating mid length larue rail system on down the road. Is it possible to have a midlength that i can put handguards on and then change over to the FF larue system? I would like a gas block without a flip up sight and a standard a2 FS. I am tring to keep it short as legal will let me. and i would like it finished in black to matcha RRA lower. thanks for your time. I tried to call but no one was there so i assume you are busy |
Denny, I too can't get through to your AOL email address. I am the guy who wants to buy the 1-9" twist in your next batch of these mid-length barrels. Can you email me?
Zak The Jiga block is basically the SPR block, similar looking to the PRI block only made of hardened parkerized tool steel. The space between the two allen screws on the bottom is the correct .300 as per the Crane block. George and myself compared these blocks with blocks on actual Crane SPR barrels and blocks to confirm the hole spacing is correct and it is. The only difference we could ascertain between these blocks dimensions and the Crane blocks is few thousnaths width on the very bottom. These are extemely well made blocks. Denny |

I am interested in purchasing 1 of these barrels with the matching bolt. I also would like a price on the rest of the parts necessary to assemble a flattop upper. I tried to e-mail you but I understand you are having AOL problems. Could you e-mail me? I have some other questions also.
Thanks, HOS |

hey dennysguns.
i posted a question. i was wondering about a price on a system i want to build. i still am interested. brian |
since I have the barrel , I would say you need: flatop + delta ring/barrel nut.. barrel mid lenght gas tube + pin FSB FH mid length hand guards bolt carrier charging handle bolt staking key.. hope this helps. |

Do to all the in's and out's of building a complete upper I would suggest a phone call to me to discuss something this important. A phone discussion can be more productive than 5 emails. 816 809 9452

That is looking good What scope is that? Let us know the results when you get out to shoot it. Denny |
It's a Schmidt & Bender 1.1-4x Took it out today, functioned flawlessly. Groups left a little to be desired, but I blame that on the 7 lb trigger in this lower . i'll take my SPR lower w/ KAC trigger in it next time and report the results. |

Blaming the gun gives me an excuse to spend more money on gadgets rather than practice ammo |

Bumped so I can find this thread tomorrow to post some new build pics.
One new pic posted. The other upper I built Satuday was identical to the one pictured. I will be doing one Monday with a 9" Larue for a customer and if time allows one with the new DD 12" Midlength FSP.

Got my barrel & stuff ordered. You can't beat this setup for near this price. Can't wait to put it together and post a pic.

hey denny, please check your email regarding doing my barrel in tan. ps: barrel & larue gas block only, but not the larue forearm nor the upper receiver. thanks jim / ar-jedi |

Noted on your build sheet. The thread protector is welded and the contours will be blended next week and I will add the coyote Dura-Coat. should all be done next week Denny |

My god that thing is PURPLE! |
Purple, I dont see any purple? Yeah, I know. So is its little brother, carbine FF RAS. But they only look like that in pics & I am secure enough in my manhood to carry a purple rifle.

There seems to be a rash (pun intended) of Purple anodizing going around these days. Most of the major manufacturers have had a dose or two.
