I'm not sure if I should call this a Super-Recce or an M4-SD.

With the can removed, it's very short, light, and handy--

You can't post all that and not provide specs.  That is wrong man, just wrong.

Nice gun BTW.

Very nice Zak.  How do you like the PRI front compared to the Troy?

The Noveske Afghan barrels are 14.5".

[#9]
The Noveske "afghan" barrel is 14.5", with a mid-length gas system.   With the Bilock permantly attached, it comes to about 16.1" overall.  There is "just" enough room to seat the suppressor over the Bilock lugs and not hit the LaRue 13.2.  I was prepared to shim the Bilock or shave the tip of the LaRue off, but it worked out just right.

CC,

I'll give a report of the PRI front sight along with the range report when I get around to posting it.  It seems very similar to the Troy.  Its lock-release button is much narrower, more like a pin.   Not sure how that'll end up.

Man, awesome to say the least.

I've got a LaRue Tactical 13.2 upper coming also, thanks to Grant.

Zak, I will be really interested in your range report. Maybe, there is one more 5.56MM  in my future. That is a nice piece of gear.

Interesting, I was thinking of doing a forend & barrel combo just like that 2 days ago. I even posted about it. You answered my question.

Nice Rifle Zak.

How's the weight?
Link Posted: 9/7/2005 4:50:05 PM EDT
[#17]
I don't have any figures, but the weight is nice.   With the suppressor on, the balance is improved over a 16-17" due to less lever arm distance.   With the suppressor off, it's very easily pointed.

ETA: I meant "improved" over a 16-17" WITH a suppressor on also.

Swings well with all that weight out front I guess.

Again, nice rifle. Thanks for the pics.

Zak,

Is that a new style bi-lock offered by Gemtech or some other one-off custom job?  Beautiful rifle by the way!

Thanks,

Josh

Looking forward to your range report.  I'm also interested in the clean up procedure you're gonna use due to the barrel's polygonal rifling.

The multi color rail covers remind me of paint store color cards...

Zak,

Remember when I said I was going to get a short dot?

Thats REALLY close to what I'm gonna put it on. I'll use the 16.1" barrel, 12" rail, SOPMOD stock (maybe, I already have the M93), MIAD and an A2 flash suppressor. Thats the only real differences.

So I definitly want to see the range report!

Is the PRI sight supposed to be mounted that way, or do you just prefer to mount it thus?

Not bad for a competition shooter.  You need to show those pics over at my house and get them "hide" members a stirrin.

Nice stick, Zak.

I'll probably run the LaRue without any covers, just for less weight and bulk, but the different color panels do break up the gross outline somewhat.

Looks pretty familiar.  Here's mine.

I have contemplated the 13.2" but I haven't gotten an answer from Larue about buying a new tube only (obviously don't need the nut).  Of course, I'm also contemplating selling the rifle altogether so....

Mine's a 14.5" LMT barrel with the old style Bilock.

Kevin....or anyone.....what's the correct size of Butler Creek flip ups for the Short Dt?

The objective is easy, 30mm 2AOBJ but is the Eyepiece a 17 or 18???

Mine's going down to Q-Town on Monday.

Is it easier to remove the can after heavy fouling with the new stlye bi-lock compared to the older version?
