Of course, exempt from the labor day promo lol!

Now to find a barrel somehow...

My spec war has been collecting dust with the same issue.

It wasn’t even 3 years ago I sold off 3 barrels to fund another gun project. One of them was a almost new 10.5” barrel that sat in the EE for almost three weeks at $300 because others had used ones for $250 on there.

I sold a NZ barrel then that cost me $200 on a LMT overrun sale. Brand new in the plastic sleeve, never mounted. I sold it for $400 and felt real good doubling my money, until I watched others sell theirs for $750+ this past year. Damn.

Everything is cyclical. LMT shit will be sitting on shelves at some point in the future and those of us that are patient will be able to get what we want.

I assume there are other people using the LMT front flip up sight here.

I notice that I can move the front sight structure (the part with the ears, not the mounting base or the little adjustable post) side to side with my hand. There doesn’t seem to be any spring tension or the such that recenters it after you move it around.

Anyone else have that experience?

In the deployed position, side to side movement is very minimal. At the very least a mm of play.

I would've guessed around 0.5mm on mine. Called LMT the same day and they said it was normal, so as long as everything is as it's supposed to be it's all good.

That is probably my favorite MWS yet!  Makes me want to get a 15.5" upper for mine!  You ever think about adding a arca rail?

EDIT: is that a 4-32 NX8?  How do you like it?  What other similar optics do you have experience with?  I have a 4-16x atacr, but sometimes I wish I had just a bit more mag.

Thanks, I’m looking at arca rail options now.

Only used a friend’s ATACR 1-8 and it’s heads and shoulders above my NX8 1-8, so I’m guessing a similar mag to my 4-32 NX8 would be the same(?), not certain but that would be my guess. Hope to someday put my big boy pants on and step up to the ATACR line.

Thank you sir...

I am a fan of the Magpul MLOK rail covers, but I always thought FDE was a lot lighter. From your picture, it looks very close, so that will be my first option. The Railscales looks pretty close too, but I am more of a fan of the Magpul covers.

On the KAC covers: I am assuming it's the tan ones that match and not their FDE? Also, what modification is needed for them to fit MLOK?

Thanks again!

Magpul FDE is quite a bit lighter than the LMT tan. The KAC color I use is the Taupe variant. KAC also offers their own FDE and Tan, but their Taupe color is the closest to the LMT stocks.

Regarding the URX panels, it's pretty simple. You need to angle out the underside so that it fits the LMT MLOK handguard profile. I just used a Dremel and some sandpaper for this. I even used the included URX hardware on the backside of the LMT handguard, as they actually fit the internal channel really well. Couple of downsides... 1) You can't remove the barrel as it won't clear the hardware on the inside. 2) You have the fish the KAC square bolts in from the front or a neighboring MLOK slot. Once you get the hang of doing one, the rest are pretty simple. The KAC vert grip was modified by forum member @white-rhyno. I asked him if he's thought about offering MLOK cut URX panels, but they're not in his current plans (wink wink). I know I'd buy some if he offered to cut those to fit.

A blend of KAC Taupe, Magpul FDE and Ergo Tan...

Just spoke with Austin from LMT tech dept an he confirmed the retainer pin is supposed to freely drop if you are inspecting the bcg.

Very excited to have been sent the latest production  parts and can't wait to install them

Question for those in the know:

Do you think the current/future LMT MRP Piston Conversion Kits being built will utilize any of this "new" technology, or will it be limited to the specific Estonia builds?

What am I missing here?

"New" technology?  Are you talking about the captive firing pin retaining pin?  If so, the recent piston BCG that I picked up had the retained pin so yes, it is trickling down to the commercial side.  IF, this is what you're talking about.

Thanks.

I thought there was also a change to the piston adjustment lever that allowed it to be removed easier when the muzzle device was on the slightly larger size.

I don't think so.

I will double check but i'm pretty sure I cannot remove the piston cup from my upper with a griffin plan A EZ brake.  Very interesting design from LMT.............

EDIT:  Yep, I cant take the piston out with the griffin muzzle device on.  Weird...

How often should the piston be cleaned and is this a real issue with the selected muzzle brake?

No, its not that big of an issue.

I don't clean my pistons, I simply replace the rings when they fail, if they fail and if they have piston rings lol.

I never clean the rings on my MPX's and those see thousands of dirty ass suppressed rounds.  When the rings give out, I change they, just like I would on an AR15.

I just think its a stupid design because in order to maintain that piston, you have to remove some muzzle devices.  I wouldn't be able to pin and weld a griffin plan a device onto a 14.5 inch LMT Piston device.

LMT doesn't really give a crap because this isnt an issue for their primary end user, ie foreign militaries.
