Looks good! I like it. I'm in the middle of accumulating the parts to do a 117/GUU-ish carbine on a C7 upper. Mission is a KISS, light and fast piece. They are solid, simple shooters.

It's fun to try and get clone correct,or close, but it's also a pain in the ass. Sometimes getting the general character and flavor is enough, and you nailed that.
I tried to put one together as well. I call it my LRRP LARP carbine. Quick and relatively cheap-ish.
The lower is an A2 style lower because that's what I have SBR'd. Made a sling out of an old 2-quart canteen strap, put on an A1 pistol grip and the CAR-15 stock, with an H&R XM-177 upper. SKS bandolier to carry 20 round mags. 100 mph tape and some paracord to bring everything together.
I went the same route during the pandemic. Since I could not find the XM177 barrel in stock, I had to made small changes with parts and substituted a LW barrel for the build. Had JT do his magic the barrel work.
