Can you please explain how the locking system is different.
I also need on of these mounts. What is the upcharge for these new mounts. |

The locking system keeps the lever secured to the side of the mount. To open the lever, you must first pull the tab towards you (if the weapon is shouldered) and then push out. There is no upcharge for the locking system (currently). C4 |

Grant,
I will be mounting a Luepy 3X9 MR/T w/ illum retical on a RECON carbine with a LMT SOPMOD stock. Never had a piece of varible glass on a flatop M4/AR should I go with the SPR or the SPR EER. Will the MR/T in either have any difficulty clearing the Troy BUIS? Thanks...........

I've been using this mount for a while now and the locking lever is a great idea...

While I'm glad to see on the SPR mounts (I've been kicking around buying an Accupoint), I still get bummed out that I can get these levers for the Aimpoint mounts I bought.
It would be incredibly cool if Larue took the same upgrade approach that Magpul did. I'd pay to get new levers but I don't see any need to replace my mounts considering they only have a few months use. Oh well, one can dream. |

LaRue just keeps on pushing the envelope with innovation in their products. Most companies would have just say back and been happy with such great designs. Hell, several companies have not updated their mounts in five years or more.

Have there been any reports of the old style levers coming loose? I hear the ACOG mount will be using one locking throw lever? Any truth to that?

If you look at all the pictures with the diffrerent mounts and the new locking system, you can see part of the locking system is built into the mount, its not only the latch that is different. Therefore I would think you cant upgrade an old mount easily without milling. |
