Looks great, and after going shooting a few times, most of mine start to get a "used" look to them anyway. I think that is a nice looking finish!
Unless you have rifles that you don't post pics of. Every one I have seen is imaculate. I've used in excess of 30 of these receivers, in either A4 or A2. With few exceptions, the blemishes were never worse than those you saw from the factory ABCs of the AR world. I still have a few on personal weapons right now. |
I sent an email a couple days ago on purchasing a couple of these uppers, haven't got a response. Do I have the right email addy, or is it just busy, or what?
What email did you send it to? |
My wife is wondering why I am sitting here laughing right now!! I take pics of my rifles, and the rifles I do for others AFTER I have worked on them or refinished them. I guess I need to start posting some before pics!! |

The email address I got was "[email protected]". Is this the correct one?

If you want to contact me direct, use [email protected]. I try to answer all my emails every day..... Weekdays that is. I dont like going to work on the weekend.

AAR report on newly built LARS/Grizzly upper. Built the upper with a CMMG M4 barrel with Phantom attached. Went on OLY lower without a hitch. AR shot nicely, jus like any other one you couldve bought from any other brandname company. It was one of the best deals goin IMO on those uppers, if they ever do this type of deal on LOWERS Id be all over it.

Sent email also. Will try again. I used the "email user" button, now I'll just try his above listed address as I need a couple of these two.
From my conversations with Dave, he usually takes Fridays off and given the Labor Day weekend, my guess is that he should be getting back to you soon.
Just got back from vaca and found my 2 uppers in absolute immaculate condition waiting for me. I dont see a thing out of the ordinary with either one. I cant wait to build these bad boys
I was suprised to find that the 3 A3 uppers that I ordered had less blemmishes than my factory Colt SP1 Carbine. Great uppers at a great price!
Thanks... |
call them. (The correct area code is on the 2nd page...I think) |
Hey all...by the way... I got a little too overzealous when I placed my last order (it's not even here yet, but I have decided that I ordered too many A3 uppers & LAR tells me "they're already in the system" and can't be removed from my order). If anyone is looking to get one or two of these, let me know and I'll send oyou one as soon as mine come in for the same price as I paid ($48 + shipping). Thanks.

I bought this upper with the thought in mind to spray it OD, to match a Cav Arms OD lower.
Blemished, BS... I cannot find a blemish. I have bought NEW uppers that don't look this good. Thanks, Dave! (gonna OD it anyway, even though it looks great!) |
Outstanding!! Please post or send me pics when you finish!! |
You bet, Stickman!
Was thinking to finish this off, Oly M4 16" barrel (these are SS), stick another Eotech on top (I have three already on other rifles), to keep in the car for emergency use. Got an airbrush already. Ordered the Norrell's stuff you wrote about (great step by step! thanks!). But man, as good as this upper looks, seems a shame to paint it. I might reorder and ask for an ugly one this time. Like others say, I have seen worse on NEW rifles and NEW uppers I have bought. |
Mine is a lil blemished "fo reel", but I just got a barrel for $75, so this will be a painted beater gun. Gotta order the rest of the parts tonight. I know $90 would beat the heck out of $35, THANKS, for letting us know about these uppers.

I finally got the pics back up on the Norrells DIY thread. They had gotten lost when the server was transferred. Sorry it took so long! www.glocksunlocked.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=10200 |

Ok a couple questions. How do I tag a thread?
And where can I get the parts to finish an A-2 upper? I want A-1 sights, but I want an a-2 aperture. |
Dave, any of the blemished A3's left? I'm interested in a couple if they are available. BTW, how much are the complete unblemished A3's from you guys?
I got my "blem" A3 upper from Dave the other day, just 3 days after I ordered it. If this is a blem, them God himself my be the QC guy. I have yet to find anything wrong with it. Thanks Dave and thanks NTXYANKEE for the heads up on this outstanding deal.
Hmmm... I'm still waiting for my (3) to arrive and my CC was charged on 9/07... Hopefully I'll see something in my mailbox soon. I'm sending an email to the sales folks at LAR to see if they can send me the tracking #.

They are out of $35.00 blems in the A-3, but they have $48.00 blem uppers. I ordered two.

Just ordered a $35 A2. I hope it looks as good as some of these ones you guys are showing pics of!
BTW: Dave said he had 'a few' A2's left as of 6:30pm today. |
I want to say thanks to every one on this thread for helping me sell all my blemished A3s. I still have about 40 A2s at the $35.00 price. I'm sure they won’t last long. If I ever end up with any more specials like this I will definitely post it somewhere on this site.
Texas Yankee, if you’re still following this thread... I owe you big. Thanks. Dave PS Check out my new & improved website www.largrizzly.com |

I was checkin out the site today before I left for work. Looks nice!
Thanks for the deal, I put together a $400-440 AR. It's gonna get all kinds of painted. I will definitly be back for more soon. Mike |

+1 |

I can’t sell any blemished lowers right now. Keep an eye on my website for any future specials like that. www.largrizzly.com/special/internetSpecial.htm

Tagged.
If I were to get one of these and thought the blemish was a bit much, I can easily get it stripped and redone as there are two mil-spec anodizers in my area. One even does the dry film lube, too! If anyone got an A3 and they're not happy with it, PM me. I'll take it. CJ |
Dave - You are more than welcome and yes I am still monitoring this thread.
I am glad that you could sell your "blemished" uppers. They are a great value. NTXYANKEE |
