Here they be:

They are not only preban, they date back to the time when Glock only made 9mm pistols, hence the lack of caliber markings.

Sure are.

Yes they are.  All of the mags made since 1990ish have a square notch, unlike yours with a round.  I believe that they are also not full metal lined.

How can you tell?  They look like they have a metal liner to me and they also completely drop free from my G17

Pre ban, and they look FML to me.  See the metal around the holes that you use to tell how many rounds are left.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking too

As stated they are pre-ban. However they are non-full metal lined(NFML). They are metal lined on 3 sides unlike full metal lined(FML) mags that have metal on all 4 sides.

Yes, and they are probably 12-15 years old. I had several pre-ban G19 and G17 mags. I sold them all in the EE to other members in "ban" states for $20 each. They got hard to find mags that normally cost them much more for the price of new ten round mags, and I got brand new mags. Everyone wins, except the banners.

When referring to the FML and NFML glock mags, the FML are the drop free and the NFML are not drop free.  Is this correct?

I have a G17 with the preban mags as pictured and they are definately not drop free when loaded.

Is there a such thing as drop free preban G17 mags?

FMLs are generally referred to as drop frees although they aren't guaranteed to do so.  After time and use they tend to swell.  NFMLs are designed to swell when loaded so they won't accidently drop out of the mag well.  That was the original specification for the Austrian army.

Yes. 2nd gen FML

There are also pre ban 3rd gen. Glock magazines out there.

Actually, the middle mag is a 3rd gen FML pre-ban magazine. The 2nd gen had a rectangular cut out at the top, not the trapezoidal cut out on the 3rd gens. The mag on the right is a post-ban hi cap.

Technically correct(there was a bunch that came in after the ban), it is the placement of the caliber designation that is what states like NY and CA look for.
