Looks like I just joined the 10mm crowd. Picked up this used 1066 w/ Nightsights from a local gunshop, only came with 1 magazine and seems to be very well cared for by the previous owner. Shot it yesterday with some Remington 180gr FMJ and it was very pleasant to shoot and accurate. Waiting on an order of 165gr GDHP from DoubleTap Ammunition now.
 Also shot the locks off my wallet and ordered (2) more mags direct from S&W. Ouch!    |

That's a sweet find!!
 I can't wait to add one of those to the stable. Curious though, how much were the mags from S&W? |

$40.00 each! But they seem to be out of stock at all the other places like CDNN.

Getting new mags from S&W may sound expensive, they are, but at least you have peace of mind knowing their history from "birth".
BTW Wave, please refrain from showing pictures of something I don't have! yet

I just scored a 1086. The 1066 has that nifty de- cocker. Mine is just straight DAO only.
Just keep pulling til the beast goes BOOM!!!!!! |

I think the 1066 is the best of the 10 series. I had a 1076 with night sights that I sold two years ago for a song...a sad sad song. I wish I still had it.

Congrats on getting an outstanding 10mm and perhaps one of S&W's best autopistols ever made.
I love my 1066, which I purchased for a song. The only other 10mm S&W that really catches my eye is the 1086....but if I were to spot a reasonably priced, but rarer 1026....... |
