+1

I also like the interchangeable grip pieces.  The USP45f is a bit too large for me.

I'm totally getting one of those, in black though. Must be black.
Hope a version is available that functions like an LEM P2K. It would be perfect.

That is now on the top of my next gun list if the price is at all reasonable.

They probably will make them in black, but from my understanding, the JSP contract specified the 'earth brown' tone.

Excuse my ignorance, but why exactly should I rush to trade in my USP-C .45 for one of these HK45-C's?

Because it's going to be use by SpecOp.... lol

More of a staggered collumn.  Double stack would have been excessively wide and the military solicitation calls for a 10 round magazine.

going by what I have seen:
Picatinny rail
Lower capacity magazine that fits in a slimmer handle
Interchangeable backstraps
Ambidextrious slide release (I love that idea, being lefty)

I don't think we should base our opinion on what a gun writer opined, especically one like Mr. Fortier.

Still couldn't do away with the high bore axis. They need the room to accomodate the have it your way action.

That was perhaps one of the worst articles I've ever read. One paragraph was repeated verbatem a few paragraphs down. Fortier comes off as an ass.

Of course Vickers and Hackathorn are going to say it's the best thing since the 1911--they are paid consultants for HK!

Mr. Vickers has served in numerous SOF assignments, including Combat Development, as well as having worked as a consultant in the fireams industry. Mr. Vickers has had a hand in the genesis of several SOF combat systems. He may have more experience with the technical aspects of pistols used in combat environments than just about anyone else on earth, as the organization he served with shoots in excess of one million rounds of .45 ACP per year, as well as significant amounts of 9 mm ammunition. You may be unaware that Mr. Vickers was a key person responsible for getting Glocks accepted into use by U.S. SOF personnel. Trying to pigeon hole him as only a “top 1911 smith” would be a serious error, as Mr. Vickers understands and acknowledges the benefits and limitations of each small arm, including M1911’s, Glocks, HK’s, M9’s, P226’s, etc… All the statements I have seen Mr. Vickers make have been unbiased and based on extensive, hard won experience. In short, regarding this topic you can take what he says to the bank…

Editing error probably.  SGN isn't exactly the new york post.

And the writers for the whole mag suck just as much, mostly.

I'd prefer more pretty pictures and technical specs than opinion anyday.

After 10 years of being limited by the assault weapons ban who would have thought you would have so many looking forward to a 10 round pistol.

That being said I when this makes it to my local shop I'm really going to give it a good looking over.

And like any other HK, it will be proprietary mags that don't fit any other HK gun?

Nothing like spending $600 on a gun and $500 on the mags for it.

10 rounds of 45 was never too litte.  it was the microcalibers (9,40) that were limitted cause their ONLY advantage was capacity.  I think this would sell with an 8 round acapacity even.  I've ahd both the KZ45 and PT145 and the magazines seem to last forever at the range.

Also maybe HK will make a longer mag and funnel like on teh usp microcalibers.  If it is selected, there should be a plethora of aftermarket parts developed anyway....

comfort and ergonomics are more importan than 2 extra rounds of 45, especially when you have a full 10 rounds available, or even 11 with one in teh camber.  that's mroe than enough IMO.

I love my USP, but the trigger could use some work.

To echo some other posters, 10-round capacity is a-okay with me.

I have never liked HK pistols, and I have never liked any "colored" pistols (just parkerized, blued, black or stainless). .45 USPs are too bulky for me and I don't care for smaller calibers so...

However, I REALLY dig this gun. it is very aesthetically pleasing, seems very well thought out. Oh and a 1911esque grip? Yes please. I even like the funky dark earth color.

I am thinking I'm definately going to be adding one of these to my collection.

But no one has mentioned a word about the price! Do we even have an idea of what the MSRP is going to be? Anyone?

Finally got the magazine.  Can anyone tell if the magazine release levers are larger than the standard USP or P2000 levers?  I find the P2000 ones too small to actuate with my trigger finger.  A little larger would be nice.

Still hoping they turn out a 'Tactical' model w/ adjustable sights & threaded bbl. as OEM (rather than being relegated as options).  And while I'm at it, throw in a mag w/ a +2 extended floorplate as well.

Not crazy about that baby-shit brown color.

And by the time this hits the shelves, it will likely retail for over $1000 at the rate HK's going with their current pricing.

Other than that, it's definitely worth a look.  Maybe they have finally out-1911ed the 1911.

So just to clarify, this weapon will have a thinner grip than a standard USP 45 because it uses a slimmer, lower capacity magazine?  Will the recoil reduction system be found on both the full sized and compact version?

This is probably the sexiest pistol I've ever seen, bar none.  I really like the magazine release.  What do you guys think of the LEM tirgger?  I have no experience with it as I've never touched an H&K.

Think of it as a 'two stage' pistol trigger with a insanely short reset.

But just to be clear, you can get this new gun with the standard DA/SA trigger as well, so if you're not a LEM fan () you're still in luck
