I am on the stock glock plate with my RMR Type 2. I find the plate SUCKS and seems to want to wiggle. Anyone have any experience with the CH V4 defender? Looks promising to protect the front of the optic for one handed working the slide.
Heres one on a Holosun Glock MOS. Goto about 8:45 mark
If the RDS's lens is recessed, there's no need for "protection", RMR never needed it and never will. This is mostly true of open emitter sights, I have yet to see one where the lens isn't recessed and thus protected by the lens housing.
ACRO P1 and P2 front and rear glass are nearly flush with the sight body. P2 provides a groove at 3, 12 and 9 o'clock in front and back for lens caps installation, Tangodown addressed the front lens damage by making a Lens Guard that provides protection to the lens, this product was developed based on extensive feedback and exeprience.

CH Precision is all Chinese junk for US made prices. I wouldn’t buy anything from them at any cost as biased as that sounds. Lots of guys here have had issues with their stuff too.
