I managed to shoot 18/25 which wasn't bad considering I haven't done this type of shooting in damn near 5 years. The old gun has still got it if I do my part. Unfortunately, after the course of fire, I noticed a chip of wood missing from the bottom of the forend near the reciever. Repairs had been made in the past and I probably didn't have the end cap screwed on tight enough. Not gonna shoot it again until a replacement is found. Everyone loved that I brought out such a classic shotgun and asked a lot of questions about it. Charismatic old piece for sure. |

Yeah, I wasn’t a fan of the synthetic furniture. The wood seems to be a love it or hate it for a lot of people. IMHO I prefer the field stock to the pistol grip

A few changes. Swapped out the GG&G RMR mount for a Scalar Works RMR mount. I was having trouble with the GG&G screws working loose under recoil in addition the screws that GG&G used for their mount are very cheap and soft. Scalar Works mount is quality throughout. Better torx screws, with a rubber o-ring as well as thread locker already applied. Worth the extra cost IMO. Added a set of Talon Grips with the aggressive texture. The gun sticks to your hand now. The last change I made was to install the Pro lifter from Beretta. It makes loading a lot easier and you can still ghost load. I can’t see any downsides to using the Pro lifter.

Switched the Ergo 1913 MLOK rail and standard SF Pro mount to a Trex Arms light bar. No real big change except removing a potential failure point and saved a negligible amount of weight. The light was pushed forward roughly an inch and moved out from the gun roughly half an inch. Overall this set up is cleaner.

I added a pocket QD sticker that interfaces with the unity tactical switch. I swapped out from the RMR to the ACRO. Still using the sync mount from Scalar works. The P2 Aimpoint sits higher which gives you a better sight picture with the BUIS. I switched from the Magpul MS4 sling to the BFG Vickers sling. It is just lighter and simpler. Finally I switched from the factory bolt release and charging handle to those from Aridus Ind. Over all I’m very pleased with this set up. This is how it will stay from now on. @ankratz Attached File Attached File |

Who makes that QD sling cup that snuggles up next to the hot button? TIA. |

I have three of them on three different guns using hot buttons. Wife’s, AR, my little B&T PCC and my 1301. I stumbled on it while trying to find a better QD mount for my 1301. I don’t like running my sling so far forward that I have to use mag clamp and the Mlok mounts on the handguard are limited and I already had a hot button installed which further exacerbated the situation. The pocket socket was the solution I didn’t know existed. I still wish someone made a QD cup for the rear mlok slot on the 1301. Something built off that rear indexing point that nub that locks the handguard into the receiver. Build a QD mount off of that or incorporate one into that index point. |

They are no longer being made. That rear bottom MLOK slot really doesn’t need to be freed up. If he would redesign that interface to include a built in QD point it would solve that issue, plus it makes his product stand out from GG&Gs version. He could also sell just that interface with the QD as a retrofit kit for his older design and as an upgrade to GG versions which would be a finger in the eye to GG&G since they seem hellbent on trying to out him out of business by buying all the Magpul furniture. That section where those tabs index into the receiver are also one of the strongest parts on the hand guard so it is perfect for a sling point. I’m half tempted to buy a 3D printer and design something up myself. |
