There are a few things you need to know, and a few things that you need to tell the community before we can make an accurate suggestion for you. (ie: recommend a shtf setup for me...)

  • Use the search feature. more than likely someone has been looking for the same setup as you are looking for, and has already asked about it.

  • Use the links posted above. they will save you a lot of incoming grief

  • who are you and what do you intend to do with the rig your looking for? (ie: .mil, .leo, .couch (shtf couch commando))

  • What platform are you running? (ak, ar, fal, pistol based carbine, shotgun)

  • What's your budget (so people don't start recommending $1k armor setups if your budget is only $150)

  • Do you want a Plate Carrier or a Chest Rig

Generally, as a community we suggest a strong first line (ATS Warbelt or the like) with the necessary pouches (ie: at least two rifle mags, and two pistol mags, knife) and suspenders (clue: the hsgi suspenders are the cat's meow.).
Your second line is going to be based on what YOU want. this goes back to, do you want a chest rig or a plate carrier? Check the gear porn thread tacked at the top for an idea of how many different configurations there are. that's the great thing about the molle system. you can rearrange your pouches to fit your speed and comfort.
If your looking for a third line, be prepared to put out some $$. you can go as low as some of the maxpedition hawg packs all the way up to an erblestock (200+) or kirafu molle system (300+). to be honest, i've found better responses on the third line in the survival forums. that's what those guys do. they design b.o.b.s. Though i wish our .mil community would chime in and start a thread in regards to a third line for what WE do in this tech forum.
