@OG1, it's a Griffin Armament OTB flash hider. It's 4.3" but only adds about 2" to overall length

Thanks so much! I have a 12.5" AK in 5.56 that did have a Triangle Brace but with all the stupid aft mess I wanted it 16" for now. I pin welded a xm177 stile flash hider on but really like the one you have.

Any of you guys painted a rifle with a law folder? Should I tape anything off (hinge, seam, button) or just send it?

I have not painted a law folder...

but, considering the number of rifles I've painted along with their charging handles, safety selectors, bolt catches, mag releases, triggers, etc. with no issues, I wouldn't bother taping anything off unless you want to for aesthetic reasons.

Nice, that's actually the same color scheme I'm going for with it. I have to get a can of rustoleum army green on my way home today. What color tan did you use?

My daughter "helped" so the paint pooled in a couple of spots and it has a little more brown than I was planning.

Surefire M85. I got a smoking deal from a guy in NC, I see, or saw, one here on the EE for like $150 maybe?
The rest of the gun
Lower is B5 PSA with BKings bcg and Breek Warhammer micro, upper is BKings assembled 14.5 mid length with Dead Air three prong flash hider.
Paint is Rust-Oleum camo colors in a 6 pk on Amazon. I had that for several years before I grew a pair.
Unfortunately, I have not shot it yet so I have no idea how functional it is.

I want to paint a Rhodesian one day, just don't have the colors yet.

I've been in snek mode lately

Most recent one:

Link Posted: 8/7/2023 11:31:13 AM EDT
[Last Edit: 11B3XCIB] [#36]
Used WeaponWorks vinyl stencils and the colors (minus gray) from Kuiu Vias camouflage and came up with this.  I used the same Krylon Olive paint I’ve done with another project and it’s not nearly as “olive” green as the previous batch but I’m good with it.  It’ll blend with the light color tree bark I hunt up against just fine

Base coat Krylon khaki

Apply decals:

Next coat: espresso brown

Decals

Spray green and let cure

Finished up with a matte clear coat to knock down any shine then wiped the whole thing down to get rid of that sorta powdery crap it leaves behind.

Painted suppressor, light, and scope krylon khaki

My first time messing with Rapco paints.  Field drab, and Forrest Green.  And before you guys beat me up about not painting the optic, for right now, it's just a place holder while I figure out where this one is going.

While I was at it, I decided the AUG would look pretty good in Field Drab.

Both of those look great, especially the AUG. It might be too early to ask given that you just applied it, but how is the Rapco paint holding up?

Looks like it might be a bit shiny but that could just be lighting and how much you laid down. Looks great.

It's only been on there two days, but so far, it's as durable as any other spray paint I've used on a gun.

You are correct.  Both the Rapco, and LVP paints I've used, even in their flat offerings have that little bit of a shine to them.  Ive read that Rapco and LVP coatings are the same thing, made by the same manufacturer, so that would make sense.

I do have a can of Rapco's "lusterless" Olive crab, that appears much flatter than the Field Drab, and Forrest Green.  I may hit the green areas with the OD, and see what that does, or consider a flat clear coat.  I really wish they offered the field drab in lusterless.
RIP Aervoe

How far away were you spraying from? I've noticed with Aervoe that if I'm a ways back that it results in a more matte finish.
