I felt the greens I used when I did this rifle didn't have enough contrast so I added some black and brown.

Originally Posted By KTM300XCW: Looks good. What colors and technique did you use? View Quote Thanks. I used Rustoleum camo ultra flat. A dark FDE, dark green, dark brown. The cans don’t have the color label on them that I can see. I did a diagonal pass, didn’t mask between color borders so the colors would blend. Then I went over it through a mesh laundry bag with a contrasting color. I masked the forward assist, trigger, turrets and scope numbers. The original upload was a little bit white washed so I updated it. |

Did you do base coat FDE and then green and brown on top? I lost too much of my darker colors so I might try to lay some darker patches over it. My mesh was too fine and it ended up more monotone than I wanted. |

Yes, I always start with the lighter color (FDE) then lay a laundry bag over it and spray the ODG and Dark Brown through stencils that I cut in heavy paper. My two tips are to make sure the rifle is really clean. I use brake cleaner. And to shake the cans a lot before and during the painting. |

I recently did these two. A Blood Diamondish PSA and a parts bin gun.
