I picked up a 1949 Marlin 336 R.C. in 30-30 yesterday for what I consider to be a great price of $400.00.
The rifle is in what I would say 85-90% condition and it has a 5 digit serial number of F****, my question is concerning any collector Value in this gun or is it simply a shooter.
There will never be anyone OG Marlins made, so by that thought they are collectible. On the other hand, they made a bunch of them, so they are not exactly rare yet.

Not really "collector" value.
That's what most people want as far as early Marlins, but the condition precludes it from being "collector", so shooting it will not harm it.
For a gun you're looking to shoot/use, while taking care of it, that is exactly the gun and price you want.
