+1 Great pictures - thanks. |

Very nice rifle. Off topic, but can you IM me the type of camera you use? Your pics always look great.
agreed, very very nice, makes me want an M1A again..... about the camera... how do you clean your pictures backgrounds? |
As far as the picture is concern, it is all about lighting and photoshop.
I use a Canon S50, it is a compact with a lot of feature and it is a great little camera. it is a bit bulky and heavy but it is a much better camera then some of those new super thin, super light units out there. of course Photoshop makes a lot of difference along with a white back ground. I will put up more pics when I get the Lupy. I left the front rail on maybe I can put a PVS14 in front of it to see if it will work with the lupy. |
An absolutely rational, accurate, hard hitting and reliable rifle. Well done!
Thx, especially from you. |

================ Ah shucks, thanks. BTW, your weapon configuration is what several folks in 2ID wished they had. Seems while the 21" Crazy Horse barrel is deadly accurate out to 1000M+, more than a few shooters want the 18.0" med heavy CH barrel. That would honestly be just fine for engagements out to 600M+ or so -- exactly what DMR qualified folks need. Also, very handy for MOUT. Expect to see another Army unit equipped with the M14SE (Phase II) with 18.0" CH barrel. It remains to be seen if they will go for the Sage stock or a modified USGI glass stock. Make sure you get the new S-7 trigger and hammer axis pins along with the new tool steel connector link pin. Those critical elements are now being incorporated into all M14SE/MK14 SEI builds, USG ECPs and USG MWOs for currently fielded M14SE and MK14 SEI weapons. Anyway, enjoy your fine rifle. Dang, I shoulda got the 18"er myself.... |

Looks really nice as everything of yours does
Thanks for letting me shoot you MRP Sorry about the primer |
This does not surprise me. The 18” barrel is very handy. The 18” CH barrel is awesome.
Timing is everything. My build will include these items |

Beautiful rifle, Chen! I have almost collected all the parts I need for a build on the USMC Krieger midweight barrel I have.
I think my second SEI build will generally follow the lines of Chen's rifle with just a couple of differences:
1) SEI 18" Chrome-Lined M118LR Standard Profile Barrel 2) SEI NM 0.50 MOA Rear Sight Assembly 3) SEI Long Life Package 4) LAW483 reinforced forearms 5) MIL STD 1913 Rails at 9 & 3 |
Can you tell me more about the forend and rail installation?? Thanks. |
+1 mach6, Please detail #4 and #5 #'s 1-3 are on my list for SEI build #2 |
Awesome weapon!!-cannot beat the 7.62 for accuaracy, knock down power, and distance. I think the 18" barreled M1A system is the most logical choice for the majority of engagements where the military is currently deployed-
how is the recoil compare between the Vortex vs. stock brake? |
-------------------- 4 & 5 is part of a LAW483 stock made for SEI to my specs. The foreend is specially reinforced by Tony Lawrence to accomodate the use of rails. The MIL STD 1913 rails will be coming from another source. They should be in production shortly. |

SMGLee could I get lnks to were you got all your parts from for your build? Your rifle is very cool looking.
H2O_MAN could I get link to were you got your front sight set up and flash hider at? I have a Springfield Armory M1A Scout Squad Rifle inbound when payment gets to the owner and I would like to get my build list started for it. Any help would be great. |
Both SMGLee and I use SEI parts. Smith Enterprise, Inc. I don't think you will find the exact dovetail GLFS I have pictured on my rifle. It's made for a rare SEI 17 5/8" barrel. You will find the HK style ring and SEI does have another dovetail GLFS available but I can't find it on the web site - call and ask for it. The flash hider is the DC Vortex, you will find this on the SEI web site. I hope this helps. |
Thanks a million. |

I like the HK ring better because in close in action, you can forgo the rear sight and just print the front hood on target and you are good to go. it is very fast and accurate for the short distant. also with the hood, it mate up with the rear peep pretty well, the front hood fits right into the rear peep making a nice sight picture. |

IS your Stock and hand guard painted AUG Green?? Cool green what ever the color. |
The stock is painted Dark Earth Brown... I got the paint from Brownell.....
I got the Leupold MR/T a few day ago... took it out and zeroed and broken in... oh my, love the optic and love the reticle.. the glass is bright and clear, even the edge the clarity is good. the reticle is fast and easy to use. I was hitting steel out to 500m with ease. got to love it. I think this is a very good, very inexpensive alternative to the S&B short dot. I paln on trying one out on my M4 or SPR soon. Only complain is the 1.5x is a bit off when in close in action.... it would be nice to have the 1.1 like the S&B. but since I have an AUG, the 1.5x isn't that much more radical to use. here is some pictures.... Thinking about adding the McBro's new M1 stock.. add a LMT Crane stock and get the tri rail option up front so I can use a TangoDown bi-pod....more money.. I can't make it fast enough to cover my expenses... One more thing, the scope was shipped with a 62gr 5.56 turret.. I called Leupold, a new Turret is being send out for the 7.62/168gr. good service on Leupold's part.... |

Was your paint DuraCoat? I want to go with AUG green on the stock and when I get in my Sage stock do a Desert digital job. My Scout should be in today. Man I can hardly wait. You guys have given me ALOT OF VERY GOOD IDEAS. THANK YOU. As to the DuraCoat, my first try will be on my Cop trade in Glock 22 with Trijicon night sights. Thinking of AUG green or WW2 OD green. I have expience with automotive painting as to home car/truck projects and one Trials motercycle frame I painted for a friend of mine.. I am going to be sending my Barrett 82A1 to Larson Tactical Modifications in KS to have the Desert Mirage Flange paint job done. From the work I have see here and other sights Joe seams to do a top rate job. |

waiting to drill and side mount to the stock, currently using a IBE Product Sling System that is pretty good for the setup. loop the front to the lower sling swivel for now.
Mr.Lee
Maybe I missed it but, What barrel are you using on this rifle? Hows the balance offhand and in other Jackass positions? Or as the say"Does it Swing? Baby!" |
What about the other specs on the rifle? Any USGI parts? And what kind of accuracy are you getting?
I love the little Scout/Bush rifles! -- How far are you going to go with you mods? |
That sure is pretty.
What is the attraction of the vortex flash suppressor, i have noticed guys like them on their AR's also? looks or function. |
Very nice. Make the wheels start turning in my head.......where to start, where to start...
Well, you can put a can on the DC Vortex Smith Enterprise, Inc. Crazy Horse™ MK14 SEI (SASS) pictured. LINK |
Sage stock, but the one with the M4 butt stock on it like the other one post here on this board.
And the front sight and flash kill on SMGLee's Scout. This is my goal. I hope the owner dose not mind me posting his picture here. But it is the blue print for my Scout. Stock is ordered and now I have my shopping list as to the other parts I will get on them next week some time. |
Sweet! Keep us posted. |
