wWOW
Went to the last one they had and it was a blast... this looks to be even better, and the first one I went to was already a 10/10 |
Absolutley not, it just means about five or six of the regulars won't be there. |
Cool, I'm going to try and make it to the FDCC shoot. |
Let's see, FDCC -- or machine guns, cannon and explosives ... hmmm ..... guess I'll be at Hernando.
Let's see... A FEW HOURS AT HERNANDO or THREE DAYS at Osceola. |
I swear Tom.....I'm gonna bring duct tape. I have a feeling we are gonna have to bring a tranquilizer gun..... jj |
No problem. I'll burn up more than three days' worth of ammo in a few hours at Hernando. Not to mention trim a few more decibels off my hearing abilities.
Geez, guys, I've been going to the winter Hernando shoot for eight years now. It's ALWAYS on the last weekend in February. Aren't there enough days in the year that we don't need to schedule two primo shooting events on the same date? |
Ditto what Tony said. Timing for this weekend sucks.
stang and others, Hate to say this 'cause FDCC is great and I'm thankful it exists, and it's another bummer that it conflicts with the camping trip... But you seriously need to be at Hernando this Sunday. The firepower that will be on display is incredible. Been playing with gunz for 35+ years and the first time I went it damn near scared me. Quad 50's, miniguns (EVERYONE stops to listen when that thing cranks up), 30 or 40 machine guns being fired at once, tannerite exploding, cars being dismantled.... IT'S F'KN AWESOME. These shoots are done 3, maybe 4 times a year and this is generally considered to be the BIG ONE. Name any machine gun & it's likely to be there. Bring ammo and ask nice, and you can probably shoot it. Matter o' fact, here's an open invite to anyone that's never shot one before... 1st mag is on me from a m16 with a LRM 9mm suppressed upper on it. While supplies last. (Ammo contributions will be accepted. ) btw, there's at least 4+ CASES of tannerite to dispose of as well. See what happens when you light THAT up in the forest. |

yea I would have really liked to go camping as well, but really poor planning with the dates
Had I known this back on JANUARY 3RD when this was planned, I would not have done so. That's why I planned the camp nearly 8-WEEKS IN ADVANCE. Then when I saw this shoot pop up on the forum, I figured that Hernando has how many MG Shoots a year, and how many camping trips for the whole state per year will there be? So the dates remained. Sorry. Hope yall enjoy the MG Shoot cuz I know it's a lot of fun from the one I went to on the 4th of July. You can look at the bright side, the Forum will have TONS of pics come the following week. 1. Build Party Pics 2. MG Shoot Pics 3. Sleep & Shoot Pics The Florida Board will be bumping in March. |
Tom, it's not your fault -- I shoulda realized the conflict and said something earlier, but I'm not much of a camper and so I didn't put 2 + 2 together. Until now.
BTW, I've been to both the Labor Day and July 4 Hernando shoots, and while they are a blast (and way less crowded), I can't handle the sun and heat ... so, like a lot of other guys, I only go to the Feb. shoot now. And you're right -- this is a great month to be a shooter in Florida! Choices, choices..... |
There... fixed it for |
which event can't you make cause of that ankle ?
Tom no big deal the Hernando shoot was on their web page calender for about last 4 months, it just did not give the date till you looked ahead on the calender to the month of Feb, It was Tonk K 's that gave me the idea ( thanks Tony ) to host the build party the day before the MG shoot cause I am about 30 min from the range....I think about 10 or more guys would liked to attend the camp out, I was definately in, and hoped the date would be changed due to all the conflicts, but...oh well, I know it will be a hit, please plan another before it gets too damn hot........Mark |
Get a ton of pics of your Build Party! I always liked looking those. |
It was always Tom's and my idea not to change dates once they are set. As unfortunate as it is, there is always something going on, soebody can't get off from work, etc. Believe it or not, Tom's wife is about 81/2 months pregnant(as soon as we find out who the father is, we'll post) so rescheduling is always difficult. So I go the the next Hernando! Some folks can go to the next campout....or schedule their own!
It's all good! campin' jj |
She is? Huh? |
Quoted:
which event can't you make cause of that ankle ? Sitting in the chair for 30 minutes and my foot swells almost twice the size. Having to drive 3+ hours then walk around and drive 3+ hours back is a tad too much. There is too much to see to just go there and sit. |
Will there be any dealers there selling RRA lowers at a decent price?
I would like about 4. IM me if you have such items. |
Just got home from the shoot and didn't take the first picture but, I had my usual GREAT time. I set-up next to tony_k and Lee, the owner of LRM Firearms and his crew, so I had the opportunity to shoot (pun intended) the shit with them all day.
After the weather broke it was pretty nice out, and what could be better than spending a day shooting MG's with like-minded people. Good Stuff!! |
Did Wayne have the MINI GUn running this time? One day ill make it to the machine gun shoot.
Hoping to make it to the Tactical Rifle match in March. |

Dang that's nowhere near as crowded as it was last July 4th, now I wish I had shown up.
The crowd is what kept me away from this one but that doesn't look bad at all. Of all the guns there I like the way those water-cooled .50's sound, nice deep 'thump..thump..thump'. |
Well, I managed to stay out of all your pics. But I was standing right next to you when you took this pic. |
sorry i missed it
again.... i hope you had fun for me too......... |
Hey, mkm33, it was great seein' ya! One of these days I'm going to have to make the trek up your way for an Mississippi-style MG shoot.
That would be Suzie a N. FL girl She has a few MGs of her own M11, Colt M16 with a M169 upper and just bought a HK51 she is looking at getting a 1919 but real likes a M60E4 I had a great time at Hernando and sharing the firing line with osprey and Tony K |
Hmmmm .... Suzie owns MGs, suppressors and is trying to decide which beltfed for her next toy.... Lee, now you have to answer the question on everyone's minds: Is she single? |
I knew it !! I figured it wasn't her first time behind the trigger when she stepped up to the line, from the stance she took, to the way she leaned into it. |

Hey, I'm happily married to a woman who has been known to order me to go buy another MG. And yes, I follow orders! I just figured that with this crowd, that's be the first Q. |
She is Married to Bo she also owns a 77/22 VIDAR + hunts hogs with dogs (no gun used they do not kill them) She grabed a hold of a HK51 for the 3nd MG she ever shot and handle it like a MP5 But to see the smile on her face after she shot Mac's M60E4 and then turn around and told Bo thats the gun she like the most we all then told Bo you better get on that M60 asap |
