I'm going to try to make this - not positive yet.
Is a OWB hoster O.K. for a concealment holster if it is completely covered by a winter coat? |

Interested, very much so. Is this an ulumni only class? Meaning did you have to have handgun 1 & 2 as a prerequisit?? I know someone who might want to attend that does not have 1&2.

The Cold Weather Handgun Course is open to everyone, there is no prerequisite. This will be an eye opener. The Instructor Workshops are for our Instructor & Coaching Staff to get some training time on specific issues as it pertains to our training & doctrine.

Sully, the above in red is a typo correct. What is the ruling on a typical OWB type holster like a kydex holster with a heavy winter jacket? Or, are you looking for a true concealment holster such as an IWB? |

Fixed the red part. OWB is fine as long as it is concealed. This is not a thigh rig class unless that is your normal day to day carry mode.

Umm, my understanding is that for now folks in Wisconsin can only carry concealed in their home or business. Unless you're a LEO no one here has a standard 'day to day carry mode'. Can you clear up the legalities of carrying concealed during this training?

Some of us have non-resident permits that allow carry out of state. I for one do a lot of traveling for business, and carry concealed frequently and legally during those trips.

There are many people of different backgrounds that attend our training. Some of Law Enforcment, Government Agents, Protective Agents, Private Detectives, Bodyguards, Military, and others, of which many of these people do carry firearms for a living and are authorized to do so. So if you are planning on attending carry in your normal day to day carry mode, and abide with what you are authorized to do. We should be rolling into town on Friday sometime. Please keep everyone informed on the weather as the weekend gets closer. Any idea how much snow on the ground that we will be contending with, or is the range area pretty packed down. Just wanna know if I need my snow shoes.

I have kept most of the range plowed out, so it is bare ground. The rest of the terrain is spotty, hard frozen snow between 0-4" .

Usually we got a confirmation by mail but I haven't gotten one yet. (I realise this class was probably done on short notice - esp. with the holidays in there.)

 It was a great day, unfortunately it wasn't that cold and the only snow on the range was where we took the photo, where it was piled up from the snowblower. First, I'd like to thank everybody for showing up, it was a good crowd with a range of shooters including two new faces. B: I'd like to [4]THANK [/4]everybody for kicking in $. It goes a long way. I've only been to a couple of Sully's handgun classes, and this one moved at a really good clip. We started with the basics and at the end of the session Sully had started us on adding stress to a shooting drill, a moving drill at that. Putting the pressure on by having us run through a drill singly is another one of my favorites. Stress will bring out the best and the worst in a person. The only way to counter the negative effects is through training. I rememer Quinlan making a comment about how the hostage target resembled the mini-Q, later in that same class after drilling on the prototype hostage mover target I was thinking how pushups don't even come close to what we NEED to be feeling. You missed her "stress inducement" technique. Needless to say I (and everyone else present for the class) will be much nicer to her in the future. I don't think I slept at all last night, as I was waiting for this:  to happen.ETA: Sorry about that Darren (? I forgot your name), but I really had no idea. "Evil" doesn't begin to describe the vile, hateful, and distinctly female tone that made every testicle within earshot run for cover... It was truly awesome.
