I'm going to try to make this - not positive yet.

Is a OWB hoster O.K. for a concealment holster if it is completely covered by a winter coat?

Count on AnnieO and I both for the 7th.  Interested in the 8th as well (request for details via PM or Email).

Interested, very much so. Is this an ulumni only class? Meaning did you have to have handgun 1 & 2 as a prerequisit?? I know someone who might want to attend that does not have 1&2.

Sully can you PM me with details on the 1-1/2 day instructor couse? Thanks

Quoted:
Defensive Edge / SLR15 Rifles will be conducting a Cold Weather Handgun Course at the Driftless Rifle Club near Reedsburg on January 7th.  This will be followed by a 1/2 day Instructor workshop on the 7th, and a full day Instructor Workshop on the 8th.  For those that will be attending the Instructor Workshops please let us know and I will p/m the info.

Cold Weather Handgun
When:  Saturday 11/26/05 0900hrs
Where:  Driftless Rifle Club (near Reedsburg)
Cost: $45 (registration online at our website)

Loadout:
Handgun with 3-magazines/speed loaders
300rds of pistol ammunition with carrier
Concealment Holster (no shoulder/cross-draw/thigh rigs unless this is your work gear)
Warm Clothing & Gloves
Eye & Ear Protection

Cold Weater Handgun is a 1/2 day course. We will be outside.  If it is extremely cold we will avail ourselves of a bonfire or something for heat.  Load out is about 300rds, Pistol with Concealment Holster (no thigh rigs, chest rigs, crossdraw rigs, or shoulder rigs), 3 magazines or two speed loaders, eye and ear protection, gloves, and dress layered for the weather.

We will be focusing on drawing from concealment of heavier clothing, shooting and doing manipulations with stiff numb hands and with gloves on. If time permits we will be doing training on dealing with winter based ground conditions while on the move. Lots of fun will be had by all.

Please soung off if you are attending!!!

Greg Sullivan "Sully"

Sully, the above in red is a typo correct.

What is the ruling on a typical OWB type holster like a kydex holster with a heavy winter jacket? Or, are you looking for a true concealment holster such as an IWB?

Umm, my understanding is that for now folks in Wisconsin can only carry concealed in their home or business.  Unless you're a LEO no one here has a standard 'day to day carry mode'.  Can you clear up the legalities of carrying concealed during this training?

Some of us have non-resident permits that allow carry out of state.  I for one do a lot of traveling for business, and carry concealed frequently and legally during those trips.

Can you clear up the legalities of carrying concealed during this training?

Found out for sure I can go. I just paid on the website. Do I need to send credentials again if I've already done a DE course?

Nevermind, I see on the DE website that I only need credentials if I'm first time.

See you guys in a couple weeks!

We're going.  Matter of fact, I need to put the payment in (oops).  If ya feel like taking a ride out this way, LMK, and we can do the xfer tonight (or sometime this week in the evening)... Alternatively, both you and PX can come out, so I can get a chance to say goodbye...

TJ; IM inbound.

Thanks for the reminder.  I've been waiting for the DE website to get the new courses up.

I also noticed on the DE site: a Cold Weather Carbine (half day) in Reedsburg in March.

So do we have a list of who all is GTG for this?  I paid on the website right after the link went up and mailed the paperwork right after that.  Usually we got a confirmation by mail but I haven't gotten one yet.  (I realise this class was probably done on short notice - esp. with the holidays in there.)

Just want to make sure we are all on the same page.

AnnieO and I are paid up.  On that note, who needs directions/needs to carpool?

We'll be leaving from the Goerkees(sp ?) Corners park-and-ride at 7 on Sat AM, with one vehicle making the return trip on Saturday PM.

Let me know via email from here.

You missed her "stress inducement" technique.  Needless to say I (and everyone else present for the class) will be much nicer to her in the future.

I don't think I slept at all last night, as I was waiting for this: to happen.

ETA: Sorry about that Darren (? I forgot your name), but I really had no idea.  Women can suprise you...even after 15 years!

Edit 2:  He's still wringing his hands in the class photo!

Picture R. Lee Ermy as an old school (read: Sailor's mouth) DI having a really, really, REALLY bad day.  "Evil" doesn't begin to describe the vile, hateful, and distinctly female tone that made every testicle within earshot run for cover...

It was truly awesome.

ETA: I'm glad that she knows I love her very, very, VERY much and would never, ever, EVER do anything to make her mad.
