My brother and his wife are finally serious about getting a carry pistol and learning to use it.

Can anyone give a shout out to a decently priced FFL to do transfers?

Any leads on a reasonable out door range which allows drawing from a holster, no '3 seconds between shots' rule, and even has steel on the range?

They're late 20's and I'm happy to see them finally seeing the value of taking the lead on protecting themselves.

We relocated to UT from WA and the two indoor ranges we've been to was a bit of a culture shock. It's pretty free in the ranges from what I'm used to. We've been to The Armory in Sandy and Get Some in Orem. I'd take The Armory over Get Some. We haven't been to TNT yet, which looks to be the nicest so far in our area.

We finally got a chance to go shooting at Soldier's Pass, an outdoor public access range with about 5 big bays. There were a lot of people (imo) for 8am on a not-so-great weather day. We packed up when a 4th party came into the bay we were shooting in.

Lee Kay range is probably pretty popular, but close, and large.

I'd recommend a pistol course with one of the local trainers like Fieldcraft Survival or at The Farm.

We've made a few purchases already down here (about 9 months). Badland Guns seem to be pretty nice folks.
