I’m mil and submitted my packet to Newport for out-of-state and got a call for an in person interview and the officer said it has to be in my residence. Is this common?

Maybe because you’re military?
Otherwise, no I have not heard of that before. They have not passed safe storage laws or anything of the sort yet…so that’s a new one on me. |

By "it" do you mean the gun has to be in your residence, or that you have to reside in the place that is on your (out of state) license? |
