I'm up for new station boots and I've had bad luck with zip-up style boots.  I am thinking of getting some slip on style boots.
What are people's experience with them.

For reference : I've had Danners, Red Wings, Bates.
And I wasn't impressed with any of them.

They only other zip-up style boot I would try again would be the Haix, but those are about $100 more than the slip ons.
But I'm trying to get away from those style.

Thanks

We wear Tactical Research zip ups.  In the past the only boots I could wear were Rocky Eliminators due to my wide foot.  But I found these and they are great for station wear.  We don't have to wear anything  with steel toes in them for duty boots, if lifting over 50lbs, we are required to put on bunker pants with fire boots.

I think these were $120 a pair?  Sorry no help on the pull-ons.

These can be had in composite or non-safety as well. Very popular at my dept. I have a 2 year old pair I am replacing but only because I want to bring them home to wear too

I went and tried on the Redbacks today, and they are super comfortable,
There is a bit of play in the heel, but I guess I'll just buy more socks.

Redbacks slip on are good. Thorogood are similar, not as good, but significantly cheaper. If you aren't totally off zip ups get a pair of warrenton's, you can't go wrong and they last forever.

Did you find them at a local place or did you order online?

Local place.  And good thing I did. Mahesh run in Aussie sizes, so they are actually sized up from what I normally wear.
Also they tend to run a little wider.  So unless I have bought the exact same pair before I will rarely buy without trying them on first.
