More Information *

The Sa vz.58 - Samopal vzor 58 (which means submachinegun model 1958), sometimes vz.58 or (incorrectly) CZ 58 is a Czech assault rifle. While this weapon is similar in layout to the AK-47, it has a completely different internal operation. The Sa 58 is gas-operated and capable of firing single shots or bursts.

The Sa 58 is based on a rifle designed by Emanuel Holek to compete in trials held by the Czech government for a Kalashnikov type rifle in 1953. It was adapted for the M43 (7.62x39 Soviet) cartridge by Josef Cermak and entered production in 1958.
