So the 10mm- do you love it or hate it? Most ammo mfgs only make 10mm in 40cal velocities. Buffalo Bore- Underwood and Grizzly make some real 10mm loadings.
So for the 10mm fans out there what is the best 10mm mfg over the counter round for self defense? What’s the best for hunting hard to kill wild animals? Thank you. Let’s hear it |

Even the FIB’s, LEO’s were such limp-wristed, slack-jaw, faggots they had to go .40. Who here needs more proof 10mm is best mm. Not a fucking question. As for OP’s Q: Lehigh 150grn or Lehigh 115grn |

Over the counter, really only Hornady and Federal 200gr hst.
Both have a notable bang. |

I carry Buffalo Bore hard cast in my woods gun
I did have to put stronger springs in the mags Full power loads would cause the slide to cycle so fast that it wouldn’t strip the top round New mag springs fixed that right up Attached File |

Let’s hear it View Quote I know my answer will be unpopular. The best over the counter rounds for self defense will be the ones loaded to .40 S&W velocities. For the few who have to worry about big bears, the heavy non-expanding bullets will be best. 10 mm is the most over hyped handgun cartridge in the universe. Which doesn't mean it is not good, just that no cartridge is as good as the 10 mm is presented to be. |

I can't math. 10mm is much less frustrating to reload than 40super-weapon. #9 powder, hornady 200gr xtp, and starline cases with Federal primers. Dies the job every time. I run all my 40 and 10 cases through a full length sizer and Redding Dr and never had a single issue |

I can tell you that Remington primers with full house 800X loads out of a 10mm revolver will lock the cylinder up. The soft primers will floooooooooooooooow like the mighty mississip.

I bought a G40 several years ago because I read here on ARFcom how sweet shooting it was for a 10mm. You folks were right. Even with decent-powered loads, the recoil was completely manageable. It was fun to shoot. Two things killed it for me. First, although I could shoot it well enough, the grip was too large for my medium-sized mitts. Second, my only use case for the gun was as a plinker. I quickly discovered after I burned through half a case of ammo that I could plink at least ten cents per round cheaper with 9mm and still get a decent ring from my target steel. Sorry Jim. |

I’ve got a G29 I carried for awhile and a G20 for the because I wanted one. Of late I have been carrying a Delta Elite. I’m enjoying 10mm while there’s not a lot of “nuclear” 10mm around it can be had if you want it and theres a lot that beats 40S&W. I think it brings a lot to the table in terms of capability and is kind of like 357 magnum. You can have something light to practice midrange for social work and full power for woods duty in a variety of bullet designs and weight. Seems to me a versatile cartridge.

Metric hipster caliber. It's OK, but has no real reason to exist when .44 and .45 is readily available.
It's like 6.5 CM. A compromise caliber that doesn't do anything better than cartridges developed before it. |

View Quote What came before the 10mm (like the 260 did before the 6.5) in an auto loader that matched ballistics? Comparing the 10 to the 44 is apples to oranges, to the 45 is has better ballistics and you get greater capacity. |
