It will be interesting to watch the liberal DAs reaction to this pardon by Abbott. Best guess would be fewer Grand Jury proceedings hence forth and just straight indictments by the DAs. Stating the obvious, this is would be bad for gun owners involved in perceived self-defense shootings...
