I understand the 7600 uses the 20ga 870 receiver. I was looking to put an XS 870 rail with peep on a 7600.

Unless your 870 was a model that came with a rail installed from the factory, they were not pre-drilled for scope bases.

No, they are different. The 7600 uses the same hole pattern as Benelli Shotguns.
