I am looking into purchasing a Galil Ace.  My big concern is do the top cover stay stable enough to mount a rds?  Does the top cover pop of during hard use?

Regards

Yes to question #1. No to question #2. In fact, you'll wish the top covers were a little looser when you're fighting to reinstall one.

No issues with maintaining or returning to zero on my Gen2.

No problems with my Gen1 .308 or 7.62x39.

No problem for any of my ace rifles with zero loss.

There wouldn’t be a rail on it, if it wasn’t stable enough for optics. 🤦‍♂️

The hundreds of thousands of cheap, Chinese AK railed top covers would beg to differ...

True, but those weren't factory units supplied to militaries.
