They will sell quickly. What is the thickness of the receiver, 1.5mm or 1.0mm? Chrome lined barrel?

I couldn't wait any longer so I bought a PSA Spiker from a member here in the EE. He accidentally added 2 to his cart and didn't want to risk looseing out by correcting his mistake so he just bought both...
I had heard all the reviews talking about some of the little fixes that need to be done, so I ordered a new butt plate with trapdoor and a cleaning rod (even though I didn't need the cleaning rod because the seller included one). I also got my grinder ready with a new disk... So here are the things I did. 1) added trap door butt plate (if you don't already know, the stock is drilled out for one) 2) ground a small channel in the gas block and HG retainer so that the bayonet and cleaning rod both fit properly. Needed some grinding on the bayonet as well. 3) removed the pistol grip and ground excess wood off so there was no longer a gap between the pistol grip and receiver. 4) added Chinese sling 5) this is just how I prefer AKs to be, not a fix, but I hit all the wood with sand paper and took the shine down as well as rounded out some of the hard edges. Now IMO, these are all such easy fixes that PSA should be doing before they ship. Except #5. I wonder if they have stopped production and are making these corrections and thats why the Spiker has been out of stock? I hope that is the reason... That looks like a classic AK I know from the East German boarder patrol. Beautiful!

RTG parts and I found one on EE as well

Please consider adding an optics rail on the left side of the receiver, seems like it would be generally easy to accomplish during manufacturing.

The Spiker is back in stock for the first time in several months. Surprisingly it was in stock yesterday at 5pm and is still in stock this morning at 5am. Either the newness has worn off and people don't care anymore or PSA assembled a large batch this time.

View Quote Attached File I knew this would happen shortly after I bought one on EE for $1400 shipped...OH well, lesson learned. I am anxious to learn if they made any of the needed minor changes, or if they are still shipping like they were originally? ETA, they came and went without any email notification per the usual PSA system. |

Typically when an item on PSA is in stock, it will be next to other "in stock" items in the order they are shown on the website. It is odd that the red wood AK would be listed first if it never showed in stock. I don't know if I am explaining this clearly, but all the out of stock items shift to the end of the listing, and don't go back to the top until they are in stock again. That would have shifted the order of the Type 56 AKs had the Spiker been back in stock again. The order would currently be Non Spiker showing in stock, the Spiker showing OOS, and the red wood showing OOS but it still shows the Spiker last??? Yes I spend way too much time surfing PSA's website... |

Spiker is currently in stock $1099

As the owner of a NIB Polytech Spiker I'm a little hesitant to buy the PSA Spiker. I'm just OCD about the fitment of the bayonet when folded. Add to that the lack of cleaning rod and the mods that need to be done to make one fit. It looks great at first glance I'm just not sure I would be happy with it. But I guess at $1099 I can't be too picky right? I think the standard Type 56 looks closer to the original IMO. Might go that direction?
