Going to be going to 'Lantic City for a long weekend of debauchery. Thing is, like any man, I wanna go heeled. And so far as I know, bringing any gun into Joisey is strictly verbotten!!!
Fo' sho, ain't gonna be bringing in any handguns, or hollerpoints, as we all know how eeeeeeeeeeeeevil those are. BUTT!!! During my many ventures up into Noo Yawk state (family up there), I can (legally) at least take a pistol-grip shotgun. The o-ficcial NJ website is a little vague on that issue: https://www.nj.gov/njsp/firearms/transport-firearm.shtml All firearms transported into the State of New Jersey: Shall be carried unloaded and contained in a closed and fastened case, gunbox, securely tied package, or locked in the trunk of the automobile in which it is being transported, and in the course of travel, shall include only such deviations as are reasonably necessary under the circumstances. The firearm should not be directly accessible from the passenger compartment of the vehicle. If the vehicle does not have a compartment separate from the passenger compartment, the firearm and ammunition must be in a locked container other than the vehicle's glove compartment or console. View Quote It would seem that, so long as it ain't loaded, no hollerpoints, is in the trunk, etc., I'm GTG. OTOH, I really don't need to be hassled, just for a weekend of fun. So what sayeth you, O hivemind? Can I bring my pistol-grip Mossy 500 into Joisey, along with a buttload of buckshot? Or am I doomed to go un-heeled? |

I think you get in just as much trouble with hollow point ammunition as the unlicensed firearm.
In for answers! |

New Jersey... gross.
I haven't been there since '87. |

That's a really, really bad idea.

I would do my due deligence before bringing any gun into NJ. Don’t assume anything,
|
|

Unless you have a NJ firearms ID card I wouldn't even try. It's not worth it.

Bring it to your room.
Do not bring it on casino floor. |
|
|
Don’t, you can’t use it.
If you do use it ACHILES will get your ass. Not joking, that room is impressive. |
|
|
If you are stopping in NJ, I don't think the trunk is gonna save you if it's found.

Better have the money set aside for the potential legal battle.

New Jersey hates the 2a. So don't. Communist country. They will arrest you.
|
|
|
Friends can’t even help you there.

It's easy OP:
Step 1: Don't. |
|
|
Just don't go to that shithole. If you must gamble, go to Vegas.
|

Even with my creds and LEOSA, I won’t take a gun into NJ. They have an absolute fetish for locking up gun owners doing things that would be completely legal in another state. The juice ain’t worth the squeeze.

You know how you're presumed innocent until proven guilty. In NJ, if you have a gun/hollow points, you're presumed guilty until you can prove innocence. How much money do you have that you can spend to prove your innocence?

I’ve seen some pretty bad experiences from people traveling into NJ over the years. By all accounts, it’s not worth risking.

I'm about as far reaching of a Brinkman you will meet when it comes to ignoring unconstitutional laws. Bringing a gun to NJ is asking for a protracted legal battle that will cost you a shit ton of money, and likely result in a stalemate at best.
Some fights are worth it. This one ain't. No juice, infinite squeeze. |
|

I would be more comfortable bringing a pound of cocaine into New Jersey than any type of firearm.
|
|
|
Stop spending money in states that don't acknowledge the 2A. Go to Vegas if you want to gamble.

I ain’t in no ways tired of winning yet!

I’ve done it many times while visiting the in-laws when they lived there. I was younger and didn’t give a crap.

Lots of crazy in the thread.
a NJFID is for purchase not possession. |

NJ carry permit is pretty easy to get right now. Leave your gun at home for AC and go get the permit for next time. 10rd mag limit and only carry Hornady Critical Defense/Duty to keep legal on ammunition.
For the record, I love NJ. First day of fluke season tomorrow. |

Even an air pistol is considered a firearm in N.J.

Going to NJ is like getting gum stuck on the soles of your shoes.

No. …. Just no.
N.J. is a nazified shithole. |

Death to quislings.

Plenty of casino's in Cleveland.
Everyone here has a gun, probably because we need them. |

I wouldn't go to AC without one.

You’ll be fine as long as you follow that guidance from the state. A lot of these posters have no clue or experience with what they’re talking about.
The fid card is for purchase, not possession. I know plenty of guys go to nj to hunt from a lot of other states. None have fid cards and none have legal troubles. Just keep your gun in a case and unloaded, you’ll be fine. A handgun is also fine and does not legally need to be registered with the state as you aren’t a resident. I probably wouldn’t bother bringing a gun with you to Atlantic City though. It would have no use and could probably be a problem with the casino’s internal policy. I guarantee that they have internal policies against guns |

It isn't a fine, it isn't a misdemeanor, it's felony worth a five year stay in prison. |

Yinz are gonna have a bad time if you get pooled over and searched.
FOIA applies for transport but yinz won't be shooting anywhere. |

That’s so pathetic. I have zero sympathy for anyone who continues to live there and whine about their rights.

OP basically is asking if he sticks his stuff into a meat grinder whether 1 or 2 turns is adequate.
Next, OP will be asking if it is OK to get serious with a knockout brick shit house with BPD. What could go wrong? Alternatively, OP will wanting to know if taking street Fentanyl would be OK to resolve his back pain issues. Is this healthy? Three Dog Night - Mama Told Me Not To Come (1970) |
