There was a story, long since buried, that in the early 80s the cubans who tortured American pows were actually in America, and that some of the missing pows were being held in Cuba, in the same prison that a lot of the marielitos were released from, verified by physical description and conversations with them. All indications are that our government knew about it and did nothing. They kept sending people to SE Asia to recover remains while guys were still alive and still being held. Look up Michael Benge on google for more details. I still have a pow flag that hangs in a window. I wasn't even in Vietnam. |
