Never have I ever, and the way things are looking I never will. I can't justify spending the equivalent of a mortgage payment on a vehicle.

1988 Dodge Ram 50.  Tiny little thing, but it was kinda fun to drive.
Looked pretty much exactly like this one:

1993 Ford Ranger STX 4 liter V6, standard cab, long wheelbase.

I drove the fuck out of it and sold it for salvage/parts in 2021.  I'd have loved to have kept it longer, but it had a serious case of frame rot.  After my arthritis started fucking with me 10 years ago I could no longer get under it to clean it up. The panels were rust free and the decals still looked good. I looked for a collector who would want it, but nobody was interested.

Also, can confirm there is enough room in the front passenger seat for cowboy style sex.

That was my first car! Though mine was the anemic I4.

Kept it for 17 years.

Bought a 1995 Mustang SVT Cobra in 1996 that sat on the showroom floor for a year because no one wanted the cloth interior. 13 miles on it and got $5k off sticker too!

This was my first and last car I bought new, I only buy lightly used now with cash.

I would speak of it, but I would cry because it was promptly rear ended and totaled by an illegal who drove off and left me the bag.

June 1987. New Chevy S-10 2wd short-bed.

4 speed manual, bench seat, hand crank windows, no air, radio or power steering.

It did have a dealer installed stripe on the side and mag wheels which were stolen about a year later.

I had to take it back to the dealer for warranty work the very next day after I took delivery because the dash gauges stopped working.

That truck and a new 94 Z/28 which also needed warranty work the very next day after taking delivery made me swear off GM products forever.

Yep - it was a great little car. My son spent most of his early childhood riding in the back of it - he was 6 when I finally traded it in.

It inspired a love of small coupes, I've never owned anything else.

I'm in my 50's.  I have never had a new car, and don't want one.

I live rural, I am going to hit a deer every other year or so.  I don't care what my car looks like, might as well drive an older one.

Same here. I did buy a new 1982 Honda CBX motorcycle as a "leftover" in 1985 for $2,300 cash at the dealer. The '05 Grand Cherokee I bought two years ago is the latest model I have ever owned.

A 1996 Impala SS.  I drove the absolute dog shit outta that car. It was so much fun to drive despite its 2+ ton curb weight.

It still had the original engine and transmission when it was totaled with 238K on the odometer.  Rear ended by a drunk at 9:00 in the morning.

Feb '02 I got an 02 Nissan Maxima and Feb  '14 I bought a 14 Toyota sienna for my wife/kids.

The Nissan was because I was naive and although I knew used was a better deal, I had bad luck with my previous car and wanted something nicer.  The sienna had 0% financing and wasn't much more than the slightly used models so it actually made sense.  2-3 of the best years/miles on a
car + warranty + free oil change for life are worth 15% more.

1991 Plymouth Laser (DSM). Found out the car had been damaged and repaired, which was not disclosed to me so the dealer let me pick out another car, which was now free.  I opted for the Laser RS Turbo . Yes, I could have gone to litigation and got triple damages but I was happy with the outcome.. It was a great car.

My first new car was 1994 Ford Thunderbird, I got rid of it after the first winter because it sucked in the snow.
I traded it in for a brand new 1995 GMC Jimmy, which worked well but the cargo space was too small, so I got rid of it.
I sold it and bought a brand new 2002 Ford F150 FX4 which I still own, but it gets terrible gas milage, so I also bought an every day driver.
I bought a brand new 2006 Pontiac Solstice which I also still own today.
In 2004 I also bought a brand new Honda VTX-1300C.

2000 Ford Focus ZX3. It is the only new car I've ever bought. It was pretty much the first one on the lot. It was weird to own for the first few months.Everywhere I went people were asking me what it was. It must have been something different at that time.

Not my pic. Exactly like it. 5-speed manual. Fun little car.
