Will the M&P 1.0 slide - barrel work on a M&P 2.0 frame?

It will work but it's not the best idea. I found out on accident when I sent a slide in for milling and the company returned the wrong slide. They were identical and people are human. It did work for a couple rounds until I noticed.

Will function, but slide stop will not work correctly.

The cutout for the slide stop is different and each model has a different slide stop geometry so it will technically fire and cycle but the slide will not lock back on empty and you cannot manually lock it back either.  It is also ill-advised as the geometry of the locking block/rails is slightly different as well on both guns.  I am a factory M&P armorer.
