I am looking for an lpvo that can shoot 500 yards mostly going to within 200 yards I was thinking second focal plane because of the closer distance any suggestions for around 1200

Super late reaponse, but I’d opt for a 2.5(ish)-10(ish) that would be more then enough as well as avoid the weight penalty. I think FFP on precision orientated scopes is mandatory if you’re going to be using different mag ranges. But if you’re pretty sure it’s going to be 10x all the time for example, then sure sfp will work.

I went with a Vortex Viper 2-10x for my .308 AR. I shoot it up to 800 or 900m and the scope is perfect for that.

I did not want to spend the coin for the 1-10x Razor and the eye box on it was very unforgiving. I am very happy with the 2-10x but right now it is on my SCAR 17s for the time being and I am not exactly sure what I really want on my PA-10. The optic is in a QD mount so I can move it around as needed. |
